GE Profile JGS968 Gas Kitchen Range - Page 2 Questions & Answers
The flames from the front
The flames should be all blue - except when you first turn it on, where the flame begins, & only when you turn it on. Orange flames mean incomplete combustion is happening. Carbon monoxide is being released. Orange flames can also mean your getting low on gas. Clean it & try moving the disk around. An uneven disc means some flames will be higher & burn your pots. The flames are wrapping around your pots if they're burning on the sides. Keep flames under the pot. Regardless of the being clean, the odor means you need to check your gas level. Once filled back, the odor should be gone if that's the only problem. That is placed in the gas as a safety feature. Don't try to fix this problem yourself if the "easy" solutions don't work. It could be very dangerous. Invest in a carbon monoxide detector especially when you have anything gas.

Hello & Welcome to FixYa
This indicates a open/shorted oven temperature sensor and to solve this problem the sensor needs replacement. If you wan to be sure before replacing the sensor then you can test it with a voltmeter for around 1100ohms....if it reads more then this then it needs replacement however, if the reading is around or less then 1100ohms then it is the control board that needs replacement. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

Sorry to read about your problem, I hope this helps you out.
The "F7" fault code is indicating a shorted START key or a shorted
matrix. Determine if the problem is the key panel or the control board. since you replaced the clock, I would disconnect the ribbon connector and measure the flat
cable using an ohm meter. Allow up to 1000 ohms when pressing a key.

Normally the bake/probe flashing happens when you plug in the probe. If
you don't have the probe plugged in, then double check that your wiring connectors are plugged in properly on your new board or that the wires to the probe connector are not shorted. Make sure that the probe is plugged in all the way. Unscrew the retaining nut, then unscrew the two sheet metal screws holding the housing in place, then give the probe connection a gentle tug to ensure that it is still properly connected.

I have the same problem and GE has a technical memo out on this. It requires a programming change. Right now, I am trying to get GE to fix it at no charge, but so far, no luck.
