check that the small hose to the pickup in the salt tank is not blocked or loose allowing air into the unit rather than the salt water. IT runs on a venturi effect so any air leaks will not allow the water to be picked up. Download the operating manual for the unit as it has a detailed operation including fault finding and over hauling of the unit.

Mykenmore watersoftner will not regenerate model

Hi Funk, If your Kenmore softener is over 10 years old, don't spend a penny on it. Replace it with a new softener. Find a Certified Water Specialist in your local phone book for the best advice. My Autotrol softeners with a turbulator have a life expectancy of 19 to 23 years so you can buy better. If under 10 years old call Sears and find out how much it will cost if they come and rebuild your softener and then figure if that money might be better spent of something new with higher quality. Use your dehumidifier's water for ironing and watering plants

A dehumidifier is an appliance found in most houses, used for absorbing humidity from the room, to keep it dry and prevent molding walls, ceilings and furniture. The water that this device produces from the process of de-humidification is stored in the dehumidifier and should be regularly removed to make room for new water. However, instead of throwing it away, this water can be put to very good use.First of all, the water collected by a dehumidifier is distilled water. This means that it has gone through a process that removed all sorts of impurities. Therefore one option is using the distilled water for ironing or for other appliances that would be better off with a cleaner water going through them.Another option is using the water for watering plants, a much healthier choice than tap water. So be careful not to throw away your dehumidifier distilled water!

What is the difference between a spirit level and

A spirit level looks like a really thick ruler with a small tube with liquid in it and the bubble in the liquid is used to make sure that the line between two points is level. A water level on the other hand is a contraption made of tubing and water that works like a poor mans level. You hold the water to the height that you want and then make sure that both ends of the tubing are level before moving on. While this method is said to be more accurate some people are more comfortable with a spirit level.

What are water levels used for?

Lets say that you want to make sure that two wooden posts are the same height. You would use a water level to make sure that the tops are at the same level, this method is very useful for if the two posts are too far apart for a regular level and if the ground isn't level.

I made a water level at home but it is really hard

Have you tried adding a little food coloring to the water? Just enough to make the water have color you don't have to go crazy and make the water a dark color.

Do drinking fountains easily infect one person with other peoples' contagious diseases?

When drinking fountains were first created they used to shoot "water one inch straight into the air, creating a bubbling texture, and the excess water" used to run "back down over the sides of the nozzle" (wikipedia) This was definitely an easy way to convey deseases. However, after a while, the production of drinking fountains started adopting an arc projection, which made it easier for the person to drink and made it more sanitary. Nowdays the jet of water goes as far as four inches in order to avoid infections and bacterial transmission.
