The question I ask on may 30 and answered, but my husband said water pipe under road was not metal. Said it was a blue pipe.

Posting follow-ups as a new post doesn't work here on Fixya because posts are not threaded by poster or subject. This post has no context to your previous post. This should be posted under my Comment as it was me that answered you. And you posted to the category 'Cars and Trucks'. https://www.fixya.com/support/t29875597-after_building_new_house_master_bathroom Unless you are in a new division, connect to a new water main, there will be cast iron pipe that was cut and joined to the blue PEX Pipe. The answer is the same, contact your water supplier. Put samples in clear glass containers or jars and show them. It is their duty to provide you with clean water.

We didn't have heat for more than a week and shut the water off and on and now the water softener had a lot of water in it and we don't know if it works. Is there a way to check?

Question moved from Washing Machines category. Water softeners add a small amount of water to dissolve the salt. You can just remove some of the water from it. https://www.google.com/search?q=how+water+softener+works+animation ..

It sound like it is not properly wired. The earth wire must be connected for your safety. Also what is the voltage on the nameplate verses what you connected it to.

Ceramic water dispenser overflows

Contact the maker of this mystery water bottle dispenser. It sounds like it needs replacing under warranty. However..... SOLUTION by OP: there was a hairline crack that did not show up until the plastic water bottle was inverted & the pressure /exchange between both bottle & crock caused enough "pull" to cause spillover the top of the crock. I have a secondary polycarb bottle (3gal) which is working perfectly. Simple physics, once again..

Cloudy/salty water, stuck bypass valve

water in your salt store is normall. it is commonly called brine. this is purely a cleaning agent of your water softener to regenerate the media. you do not drink this water nor does your water pass through this. it is only pulled through into the unit when regenerating.ie. this piston is in a position which allows the water to flow through a v enturie pulling the salt. water will sit in the brine tank always to be ready for the next generation and to be at the correct brine dilution so it's important to maintain the salt level above the water level. cloudy water is nirmally air bubbles which should settle out within a couple of minutes . if it tastes salty I suspect your regeneration waste water is contaminating your supply feed. like seeping back into well or tank .
