Sputtering and stalling

Could be clogged jets from carb, or water in the bottom of carb bowl. Try draining it there.

My vespa keeps cutting out after a couple of miles it sounds like it seizes then it stops but restarts after a while

The biggest villain on a PX is the wire sheathing from the stator to the outside of the engine, it gets chafed off and causes an earth out. Also check the frame to engine earth, CDI and coil earth's as they are susceptible to corrosion which breaks the connection.CDi/Coil and regulator units do fail when they get hot and can exhibit the symptoms before they shut down, when they cool down they work again so maybe get a load test done on those or replace with a borrowed known good unit.Soft and hard seizing can be caused by damaged cylinder, piston rings, cracked crown, cracked piston, also a failing exhaust will cause merry hell with running.

My Vespa ET4 Clock Stopped Working, How do I fix it?

The battery that powers your scoot has nothing to do with your clock battery. The clock runs on a small round battery directly under the clock. I had to have my shop do it because you have to open up the entire top cover. Cheap fix, and having the date show is great for us oldsters!

My vespa piaggio scooter wont start 50cc year 2000

Pull the hose that goes to your carburetor from underneath the fuel tank and crank the engine for a second. You should see fuel coming out of the hose.Pull the spark plug's cap, remove the cap by turning it counterclockwise like unsrewing a bolt, and while holding it far from the edge, take the ignition coil wire's end close to the engine creating a gap of 1cm (less than an inch) and crank the engine. You should see a spark between the cable's edge and the crankcase. If all the above turn ok but you still cannot start the engine (even by replacing the spark plug with a new one) then you shoul have your compression check at a dealer.

VESPA 2008 LX 50.Will not

I would suspect a dead battery or a loose connection. If you have a digital muli-meter, we can test further, I do recommend you check the main inline fuse first. If this its OK, clean the entire fuel system, carb fuel tank and flush lines. Also, replace any fuel filters you might find.

Hope helps.

Brake light is on permenantly

The chances are that your brake light switch is jammed on. The switch is connected to a spring, which in turn, hooks onto your brake pedal. There is a picture of one of these units available here: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MOTORCYCLE-YAMAHA-TYPE-REAR-STOP-SWITCH-BRAKE-LIGHT-/310231989451 if you are unsure of what you are looking for. Two likely causes

1) The spring is over tensioned. There is an adjustable thread on the switch which allows you to move it closer to, or further away from the pdal, relaxing or tensing the spring. Release the tension on the spring by adjusting the switch unit so it is closer to the pedal (But test that when the brake is applied, the light DOES come on).

2) The unit is jammed as a result of age and or corrosion or dirt. Clean the unit, unclip the spring from the brake pedal and pull the centre pin of the switch in and out repeatedly to ease the movement. This may get it working again. If exercising the unit manually for 5 minutes doesn't fix the problem, you may need to replace it.

T5 starts but no lights horn indicators fuel gauge

Hi,
Check the main fuse near the battery, it have been poped up and needs to be replace wit the same amperage. If the fuse blow up again, check your wiring there might be a cut or expose wire that maybe grounding the body.
Try also to check the electrical connectors, it might only been disconnected or needs some cleaning up on the contact pins.
Hope that helps you out.
Thanks for using FixYa!

2007 Vespa 200L Has Been

If you left the bike siting for a bit especially with fuel in the tank then that is more then likely your problem. Try new fuel first if that in and by itself doesnt work then you probably have varnishing in the carberator you could try running some carb cleaner through it but if that doesnt do it you will probably need to have the carberator serviced.
