If Im riding in 5th gear doing say 3000 to 4000 rpms the engine not chainges like it would if I had dropped down a gear and the rev counter redlines The bike doesn't drop down and I have to slow down to say 40mph to keep the revs to bellow 7000, when I stop turn off the bike it some times rides normal for a time Any alias apreciated

Here is the cause of surges, stalls at stops, slow idle speed, erratic idle speed, rough idle and engine hesitation (and other problems), it is in most cases the idle speed control air-bypass valve and or throttle valve and upper intake, these area's get full of gunk and combustion residue over the miles and cause idle issues (stalls, low idle) like yours, Get a can of intake cleaner from any local parts store, not carb spray, intake cleaner, it is made by a company called CRC, remove the air intake hose to the engine, hold the idle high so the engine won't stall, then spray the can of cleaner into the intake while keeping the engine running, use at least 1/2 the can, shut down the engine and disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, then restart and complete a number of mixed driving cycles, town, freeway, stop and go etc., after a few days the problem will go away as the system will relearn to the clean intake.

Hi I an Vortash there are a few things that can cause this ... Air at the inlet manifold caused by a faulty gasket ?.... Air leak in the Brake servo causing loss of Inlet vacum ( this would be noticeable with the fact that brakes would be a little spongy but not always and sometimes the engine revs increase when you put the brakes on when staionary ) Faulty throttle cable ... faulty throttle sensor .. best way to find out is to have the car checked out on a Krypton tune machine ( or equvalent ) to determine the fault otherwise you could spend out on un nesscasary parts .. at least the machine would pinpoint it for you .. It is always adviseable if you do your own repairs to get hold of a Haynes manual for your vehicle it will tell you all the best ways of treating most of your cars problems cheaply and efficiently hope this helps Regards Vortash

This is a diagnostic code telling you there is a problem with the exup valve and/or servo, cables etc. Take the little cover off the exup valve and check the pulley is rotating about 1/3rd of a turn when the revs hit more than 4000 revs. It might be partially seized or a broken cable or problems with the servo. The mechanical bits are easy to fix.

CODE SCAN FOR FAULTY MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR OR FAULTY IDLE AIR CONTROL VALVE. THE IDLE AIR CONTROL VALVE NOT WORKING.ITS NOT MAINTAINING IDLE SPEED. IDLE SPEED SHOULD BE 820 - 900 RPM.THE THROTTLE BODY NEEDS CLEANING CARBON BUILT UP AROUND THE THROTTLE PLATE.YOU NEED A CAN OF CARBURETOR THROTTLE BODY CLEANER AND OLD TOOTH BRUSH CLEAN INSIDE THROTTLE BODY AND PLATE. DONT GET CARBURETOR CLEAN ON ANY OF THE THROTTLE BODY ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS AND RUBBER AND PLASTICS BECAUSE CARBURETOR CLEANER WILL DSETROY THEM.WORK SAFE AND WEAR SAFETY GLASSES TO KEEP CARBURETOR CLEANER GETTING INTO EYES.
