2002 1200 sportster XLH where is the 4-way hazard module located
SOURCE: Gas is streaming out of my overflow line.
I don't work on Harleys but I know it is a stuck float when the gas flows. The following is what I tell the Japanese bike owners.
This is a carb float being stuck open. Turn off the gas and drain the offending carb(s). Next, turn the gas back on and sharply tap the float bowl with the plastic handle of a screwdriver as the fuel bowl refills. The goal here is to vibrate the float to free it up. If doing this process a couple of times doesn’t free the float I would remove the offending carb(s) and clean with a spray carb cleaner. By the way, the float itself could be bad > filled with gas instead of air. Clean the air filter then re-mount carb(s).
Please rate this solution. Thanks!
SOURCE: Unable to locate fuses on a 2001 Sportster 1200??
look behind the panel on the left side by the battery. pull the fuse holder down. realease the little clip and tug it downwards. It sits in grooves and the body of the fuse block just slides up and down.
SOURCE: 1998 Sportster XLH 1200 seems too smoky. Carb,
Is this a recent development? Or has it always left that smell? I had an older Sporty, that I ran too rich for years, it left lots of black soot on the inside of the exhaust tips, and a very pungent exhaust smell on your person. When I went down a couple jet sizes, it got much nicer, and ran a little better as well.
Testimonial: "Thanks for your input. That does make sense to me. However, the service techs have told me that most Harleys are designed to run rich. Thanks again."
