Change the gear shifter 2 teeth UP or DOWN.
Otherwise, these models are known for problems with third gear (gear dogs and shifting fork get worn out, hard laser welding is a solution)
"Generally" in manual transmissions, first and reverse gear are on the same gear cluster, thus if one works both do. However, the remaining gears are on what 'used' to be referred to as the 'cluster gear' and this 'cluster' could fail, still leaving you with first and reverse gears. Hope this helps.

The mechanic should check the third gear of the transmission . And the shift gear check the shift gear too for why it stuck while on the third gear. if the gear is worn out or destroyed then replace the third gear.Then also look and check the oil seal to make sure the problem is solved. then check and adjust the shift lever sleeve so that it will not stuck.
