I have replaced 3 disc brake calipers on my 2001 pt cruiser. after bleeding all 4 brakes 3 times, I started the car and brake pedal goes to floor. is my brake booster shot?

Michael:

You must start bleeding the brakes at the wheel farthest from the master cylinder (usually the right rear), then the next farthest from the master cylinder, then the next, then the closest. If your master cylinder is at the left front of the car, start with the right rear, then the left rear, then the right front, then the left front. If you don't bleed the brakes in the correct order, you are just shifting the air in the lines from one line to another. Make sure that you close the bleeder before letting the brake pedal up, and the engine should not be running when you bleed the brakes... Make sure that the emergency brake is off. Make sure that the master cylinder does not run out of brake fluid at any time that you are bleeding the brakes.

Brakes went out, master cylinder is dry. filled the master cylinder pumped brakes and bled rear drivers side

If there is a substantial fluid eruption, there are air bubbles still trapped in the system. You must repeat the bleeding procedure to remove that air. A modest disturbance in the fluid returning to the reservoir indicates a properly bled brakesystem.

I REPLACED MASTER CYLINDER AND SLAVE BUT CANOT GET CLUTCH

Some clutches can be fearsomely difficult to bleed successfully. In cases of difficulty it is worth trying reverse bleeding...

Connect the clutch bleeder and the nearest brake bleeder together with some well-fitting tubing, open both bleed screws and have an assistant pump the brake pedal. Make certain the brake reservoir is kept topped up and remove excess fluid from the clutch reservoir before it overflows.

Half a dozen pumps usually is sufficient, hold the pedal down and close both bleed screws.

Brake pedal pressure low after replacing and bleeding rear brakes

i dont know what this car is but it sounds like you need to adjust the rear brakes and also there may be air still in the sytem, there are many cars that cross brake systems so if you are working on the left rear wheel you would also need to bleed the right front wheel, heres what i would do make sure to fill the brake fluid and always keep an eye on the level as you are bleeding the brakes, start at the right rear wheel and bleed it a few times then move to the left rear wheel, bleed that then go to the right front and bleed that one and last is the left front and that should solve ant air in the system problem, also make sure there are no leaks in any of the brake lines. good day.

I have a'90 goldwing,I cannot get brake fluid thru

Your rear brake pedal operates the rear caliper and the front disc. When you tried to bleed the left front caliper you let air into the rear brake system. Bleed the rear brake and front left caliper using the rear brake pedal that should restore the rear (and front) brakes.

After putting on new calipers on both sides of my dodge ram 2005 1500 and bled brakes I have no brakes. What is the problem they worked fine until I did the caliper and brake

Did you bleed rear brakes also? Should do all 4 whenever bleeding brakes starting w/ right rear, left rear, right front then left front. Sounds like air in lines.

HOW TO CHANGE REAR BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH ON A HARLEY DAVIDSON SOFTAIL

To change the switch, first unplug the wires at the switch. Screw the old switch out and install the new switch into the tee connector. Do not depress either brake lever while the switch is out. Tighten the switch and reconnect the wires.

Usually you don't have to bleed any air out of the brake system but check the rear brakes for proper operaion. If the rear brake pedal goes too far down, bleed the brakes at the rear caliper. Make sure you don't run the rear brake master cylinder dry while bleeding the rear brake. Use only the approved type of brake fluid, do not mix the different types of fluid. Make sure the rear brakes are working properly before riding the bike.
