Check the battery with a volt meter and make sure it reads at the correct voltage. If it doesn't the replace it.
If the battery checks out then it could be a fuel and air intake problem. if the bike has been sitting for awhile with fuel in the lines and in the tank then it could have separated and plugged your fuel lines or rusted. Take some fuel treatment and try and run it through. if that doesn't work then you may either have to adjust your carbs to allow more or less air and it's the same for the fuel.

I always follow these three steps first before assuming anything is majorly wrong with it. 1 Has power and battery is good 2 Check to see if it is getting the correct amount of fuel 3 check to see if it has the correct amount of air
Hope this helps. Good luck.

No power too bike

If you jump started from a car you have fried the battery. Also possible cooked the rectifier/regulator unit. I suggest get a new battery and charge it at no more than 1 amp for a few hours. Fit the battery and see if the bike starts. If it does check the charge rate to the battery with a muti-imeter. You should be looking at just over 14 volts with about 5K RPM. Good luck and please remember never jump start from a car, van, lorry etc in fact don't jump start at all from anything.

Hello, I have a 2005 Honda VT 750 DC Shadow Spirit, and just got "tune up", but now it won't start when cold, is there a safe way to jump start it with car cables/battery?

jump starting of a car battery can cause a spike in the charge circuit, when the bike starts it can try to charge the car battery and fry the regulator. better to roll start and take it back to the tune up specialist

1983 Honda Nighthawk 650 stopped starting

Sounds like the starter solenoid went bad. Turn the key on, Make sure it in N. Take a screwdriver and jump the terminals on the solenoid and see if it turns the starter over and starts the bike. If it does then the solenoid needs replaced.

I have a 05 gsxr 750, replaced battery, now no start.

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Initially, try starting with the clutch lever pulled in and / or the sidestand folded up.  Additionally, determine if there is a clicking sound.  If there is, then it would most likely be the starter solenoid.

Good luck and thank yu for asking FixYa.
