PUT KEY IN THE IGNITION SWITCH.TURN TO THE ON POSITION WITH ENGINE OFF FOR 10 MINUTES.WATCH SECURITY LIGHT.WHEN SECURITY LIGHT DISAPPEAR.TURN OFF IGNITION FOR 5 SECONDS THEN START THE ENGINE.HAVE VECHICLE SCANNEN BECAUSE POSSIBLE CAUSE TO YOUR PROBLEM IS THE KEY OR KEYS WORN. YOU HAVE FAULTY IGNITION SWITCH OR BCM. THE DEALERSHIP HAS TO CHECK IT OUT.THE 10 MINUTE TRICK WILL WORK FOR SHORT TIME.IT WILL GET WHERE 10 MINUTE TRICK WONT WORK.WHEN SECURITY LIGHT ON NOT SAFE TO DRIVE VECHICLE.BECAUSE THE SECURITY THEFT MODE WILL SHUT DOWN YOUR CAR. sounds like your engine immobiliser fuel cut off is activating.try taking battery teminals off,re-connect and re activate your immobiliser fob the usual way,**** it will re-set itself,& or your fob battery may need changing,it,s anti-theft cut off that is your problem.good luck.

2004 Chevy Silverado 2500 hesitates when driving and then won't start.

I would just about bet a weak fuel pump. With a scan tool connected you can monitor your fuel pressure thru live data. Low fuel pressure will not set a check engine light except if the O2 sensors register a lean condition.

disconect the reverse light switch wires from the gearbox & bridge. If the lights come on it is a faulty switch.

Security light is blinking - GMC 2500 van won't start

replace the ignition lock cylinder, that should cure the problem, but u will need to have the VATS module re-programmed to accept the new VATS key resistance value, this is preformed by the dealer only.

Brake Light Problem

Hi,

Often brake lights and signal lights not working indicates a loose grounding of the rear electrical assembly. Other indicators would be dim and/or all the lights light up (but dimly) when engaging the breaks or activating any of the turn indicators. A way to verify this is to hardwire another/external grounding wire to any of the metal receptacles of the bulbs straight to a bare metal/chassis of the vehicle.

Of course the standard procedure of checking the fuses, the harness connectors and the wire harness themselves still apply.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.
