The check engine light came on in my 2003 Honda CR-V and the dealer told me it was the Throttle Sensor and quoted a charge of $700.00 to replace. A friend said the charge was mostly labor as the part was under $100.00 and also said it is fairly easy to replace. Is this true and how do I obtain a part that is comparable to the Honda part used by my dealer?

Your throttle Sensor is riveted to your Throttle body. Your friend is right in most case, it usually involves two screws and a connector with a little adjustment and your off. Your SUV is a little different, granted you can still do the repair yourself if you like but finding the part will be a little tricky. You can try salvage yards if you want to take the chance but you will need to by the whole throttle body and replace it whole. Might be a little cheaper the salvage way if you have some one to replace it on the side and not a going through a shop.

Unhook the MAF sensor or throttle position sensor then try and start the engine. The check engine light would come on.

Engine light came on - yellow. Code: P0134 02

there is either a problem with the wiring going to the front oxygen sensor, or with the oxygen sensor itself. good luck!

Warning Light

its the check engine light. A sensor is failing and may fail completely soon. If no running problems are experienced it may be the O2 sensor in the exhaust header or cat pipe.

The owners manual will not tell you what this means, you will need to get someone with a diagnostic tool for honda or OBDII to pull the fault code from the ECU then take it from there.

My 2003 Honda CRV consumes excessive Fuel and also Its check engine (MIL) is ON. What can I do?

It sounds like you just need to replace the air filter. In my Honda, a dirty air filter would cause both of those problems.

2004 Honda Civic -Code P0122 Throttle Position Sensor Voltage Low

yes, this is the case of a failed throttle body, in which case it needs replaced, the car is getting too much fuel causing the high idle. this needs replaced asap. you could proably find a small independant honda shop that could do the work for less.

2003 CR-V Throttle Position Sensor replacement

Try cleaning the IAC (Idle Air Control valve.) by buying spray carb cleaner and removing the air cduct from the engine. On the fuel system side look into the hole and try to locate 2 holes on the side . With the engine running at about 1200 rpms, spray about 10 seconds worth of cleaner at the 2 holes. Turn the engine off. Let the cleaner soak. Then repeat procedure. The IAC can also be removed and cleaned if you wish.

2003 Honda crv

Yes, as long as the honda isn't doing anything weird, such as strange noises, poor performance, etc, you can drive it to the dealer. They'll check it for engine codes which will tell them what's wrong. Probably an emission component (such as a sensor) isn't working properly. countrycurt0
