Replaced the Holley 1945 one bbl on my 84 Dodge Ram 150 3.7 engine. I believe am having problems with vacuum. The truck is idling fine, but when you step on the gas it stumbles. The diagram under the hood is to vague. I need a vacuum routing diagram that is more detailed. Where can I find this?

SOURCE: vacuum pump diagram 2002 ram

It is very likely that the vacuum hoses are the problem. The only people that have a manual with the diagram you need is a dodge dealer, contact the service dept at your local dealer and they will probably photo copy you a diagram from the service manual.

SOURCE: My vacuum lines from my

I was going to include a vacuum diagram but I need size of engine, weather it Federal or California if it has ESA, High Altitude and Heavy Duty Cycle. Maybe the diagram I have is different than yours. They don't make it easy that's for sure. The bowl vent will be on top of the fuel bowl and about 3/8 inch it's a big one and goes to the vapor canister. The vacuum hose for the EGR valve goes from EGR to a vacuum solenoid and from there to a Ventura vacuum port. Which is a vacuum source that has vacuum that starts at part throttle and drops off about ¾ throttle.

If the engine seems to run fine over 1450 RPM maybe there is a vacuum hose leaking or EGR valve is slightly stuck open. Any help from the OBD II trouble codes? Or is there simply no MIL and no stored information in the OBD II computer read at the local parts store through the connector by the drivers knee?

83 ford f-250 351. starts but will not idle

If its a (holley) motorcraft 2 bbl carb sounds like the power valve. They typically blow out whenever the engine backfires or they just wear out after time and flood the idle circuit.

Im trying to find the optimal settings for my two bbl carb

You will need a vacuum and Tach meter guage, when the highest vaccum/RPM reading is reached the air fuel is near perfect, make sure you start lean and slowly turn the mixture screws out ( or in depending on carb type) evenly, reset idle speed if ness, as it can increase allot. In order to meet emission tests and get better fuel economy I would lean each screw 1/4 turn from best vaccum/RPM setting. Also verify the ignition timing is correct before any adjustment is made and engine is at operating temp.

1989 dodge ram 150 5.2 motor shutters

Start the engine and get it up to operating temperature. Take a spray bottle with water in it and spray the vaccum hoses and around the intake gaskets. If the water affects your idle, you possibly have a very common intake gasket leak. That motor is well know for vacuum leaks around the intake gaskets. You can also try spraying carb cleaner, but be very careful with that. Hope this helps. Sounds like a vacuum leak to me.
