I have a 2001 Ford Taurus that will not start. When I try to start the vehicle it will not turn over. I have a good battery, I can hear the starter working, but it sounds and smells like I am not getting any fuel to the engine. Also, I just put on a new fuel filter today and it still is not wanting to turn over. Where is the fuel pump located so I can check that out? If that is not the problem, then what do I need to do?

Turn key wont start. battery still good

Maybe a bad solenoid and/or a bad starter motor. When you turn the key do you hear any noise at all? Do the dashboard lights come on?

Battery drag

Are the battery posts clean and cables tight ? Do you have full battery voltage at the starter post ? Ground connections good ?

2006 Ford taurus won't start, starter, altlernator, battery replaced, ignition starter switch, neutral safely switch changed, still nothing

I looked at info for your security system, it is starter motor disable. I didn't see 06 ford Taurus in my database, so I looked at 05.
Battery has a full charge and battery connections all good?
We can usually do some tests to see if starter motor will crank the engine, but, if the security is the problem, it still won't start.
You can check for applicable trouble codes? Try a different key?

When I turn the key i hear a click in the engine compartment. Replaced Battery, lights work but car will not turn over and start.

Are the battery connections clean and tight? If so,have someone use a test light, and put it on the starter post while youre trying to start the car. If it is getting voltage, and the light comes on,then you have a bad starter. If youre NOT getting voltage, then most likely you have a bad starter relay.
Good Luck!

2001 ford taurus wont start only clicks new battery

I would check the wires on the starter, it might have a bad connection, also your starter might be bad.

My 1996 ford taurus wont start i tried everything new battery new starter all it does is click what can it be?

follow the positive cable from battery, and you will find it ! did you change starter solinoid with the starter! the clicking and will not turn over is caused by battery, starter solinoid, or bad battery cable. The starter solenoid on many Ford vehicle's is on the inner fender well, The terminals should be free of corrosion and should tighten up well.
When the connections are tight you should not be able to twist them by hand.

good-day !

2004 Taurus won't start, only clicking noise when I turn the key.

It sounds like it could be the starter solenoid. I would remove the battery and have it tested, then when the battery is put back in make sure all battery connections are clean and tight. If you go to autozone.com, you can register your vehicle for free and have access to a full online repair manual. Good luck and hope this helps.

2003 ford taurus when u go to start it it just clicks new starter battery good won't start just clicks

If you can verify that the battery is good then I would say that the starter itself has failed. This clicking you hear is the solenoid on the starter attempting to engage the starter.

Starter on a 2001 Taurus

1. Do you hear a clicking when you turn the key trying to start the vehicle? If so, then it is usually the starter solanoid.

If not...

2. Do you have power? Turn on headlights and try starting the vehicle. Do the lights dim? This will indicate a battery problem. If the lights do not dim, this indicates a strong battery.

3. Is the engine turning over but will not fire up. If so, do you have gasoline? Check for spark will be the next thing to check.

Good luck.

1999 Ford Taurus Wont Start

Tapping the starter does not always work. I would check all the connections on the battery and starter. If these are good replace the starter. Don't forget the grounds.
