2003 vw gti fuel tank hole

I have a 2003 vw gti 1.8t and my fuel tank has a hole in it about half way down on the drivers side of it, I know I will need to get it replaces but I was wondering what that type of repair would involve, about how much it would cost to get done at a vw dealer and approximate time that sort of labor would take.

They do leak kits in auto parts stores. if it's not that bad it should work. other wise, est. $200 gas tank, 3hours labor.

2003 vw gti turns over but wont fire

Check to make sure you are getting fire. Do you have fuel pressure. There will be valve on the fuel rail (looks like an over sized tire valve) Turn the engine over a few times and push the center part of that valve on the fuel rail (stay clear) Fuel should spray out. If not its either a bad fuel relay or the fuel pump is bad. If you have both fuel and fire, Then do a compression test on all cylinders. If you have no compression, the timing belt may have broke. Hope this helps

Hi the fuel pump is located under the back seats , and under the flap of carpet is a round disc with three screws ! And underneath that you will find a big plastic ring which holds the fuel pump !! They are easy to take out and replace plug and play really ;) Disconnect the battery !! First and be careful please !! Good luck

2003 vw jetta tdi fuel filter

It is on the passenger side right behind the washer fluid fill tube. You can follow the fuel lines (look like 1/4" black tubes, some are clear) from the injector pump to it. It is a caniser a bit bigger than a normal looking oil filter and sits between the washer bottle and the metal that forms the wheel well. It is held in by a screw type clamp about half way down the cylinder. Probably isn't the fuel filter unless there is air in the lines to the injector pump or they didn't bother to fill the fuel filter up with diesel after putting it in. There is not a fuel pump in the tank in these cars so everything is sucked up by the injector pump and it needs to be primed properly.
