How do I change the headlight bulb?

The center console piece around the floor shifter should normally be held in place with plastic clips ( some are held with screws ) and should just pop up with a gentle tug. The bulb can then be accessed for replacement

tun the light on use test light and check the fuse for head light.if good disconnect the socket and check for power . switch test light to positive terminal and check for ground. if no ground inspect the ground wire to the body for lose and corrosion.

15. Remove the facotry headlight from the BMW. First remove the front panel cover below the headlight to access the bottom screw of the headlight housing. There is also two screws on the top of the housing.
16. Once you have remove the headlight, turn the headlight around and remove the bracket that holds the Ballast. Then remove the ballast using a philip screwdriver.
17. Unplug the wire from the ballast, and then remove the Xenon Plug from the housing. Put the Ballast aside.
18. Carefully remove the D2S Xenon Bulb from the factory housing. Once you have remove the bulb, transfer the bulb to the Spyder headlights.
19. Remove the bracket from the Spyder Headlight, and then install the ballast on the housing like the original. Once you have put the ballast on, put the bracket back on.
20. Remove the Panel Cover bracket from the original headlight to the new Spyder Headlights as shown here.
21. STEP:
22. Install the Spyder turn signal socket if the orignal does not fit, unplug the factory plug from the harness and plug the new one on.
23. Install the Spyder Headlight back on to the vehicle. Plug the Harness back on, the halo/L.E.D. Wires is connect to the Parking lights. These wires are optional to your vehicle, you do not have to wire them together.

there should be separate relays for your headlights inside the fuse panel under the hood drivers side fender

very simple go behind lens unplug light then turn the light hold down counter clockwise till the light comes out,reverse to install.

have you looked at all the fuses,, and any relays,, it could even be a bad earth on the light itself or a bad buld holder if its got hot and burnt away, there are a fuw things to look at

frist thing is to check for power at the wires at that bulb socket,may have bad socket or bad wire, start there.

You gotta twist the whole thing, before you take off the wires from the back of the bulb about 45 degrees, then pull straight out. It's not "screwed in" like a light bulb in your house. I just changed mine, and had to figure it out. Took me a minute, but I got it. It's a small space in there. Good luck!

1. In the back of the headlight, you should see a rubber insert and a plug going in that's in the shape of a cube.


2. Disconnect the cube shaped plug by pulling it out. There is grease on there so have a towel to wipe your hands just in case you don't want your hands dirty.


3. Remove the rubber insert simply by tugging it out. It's a lot easier than you think so don't tug that hard and hurt your hands. Now, after the rubber insert is removed, this is the trickiest part. I tried to take the bestest picture I can. In the picture below, you see 3 metal stick sticking out and to the right a bit, you see a little tab. What you need to do is push that tab in, towards the headlight direction, and unhook the bulb that's connecting to it. Give it a few try and you'll know what I'm talking about.


4. Now, after the hard work of getting the bulbs out, remove them carefully from the car. Replace the bulbs you would like on back inside the bulb. The type of bulbs the Echo uses are H4. I bought some off ebay for around 9.99. Xenon HID, they give off a white light with a dark bluish tint to it. Putting back the bulb is easy, just put the bulb in, hook the switch (tab thingy) back on and reconnect everything. You might want to put some grease on the new bulbs though. Grease the part where the 3 metal stick sticks out.
