The sensor should be located where the shifter cable is attached to the trans. It will have a plug with several wires. Usually there will be a way to align it, like a hole with a pin when it should be in neutral.

P 0705 transmission range sensor circuit malfunction code for a 2001 mitsubishi galant can i replace it and where is it located

P0705 - Transmission Range Sensor Malfunction. The park/neutral position (PNP) switch includes a transmission range switch. The transmission range switch detects the selector lever position when the shift lever is in the N or P shift position and sends a signal to the Transmission Control Module (TCM). The possible causes of this are the following: Open or short park/neutral position switch circuit. Poor park/neutral position switch circuit connection. Misadjusted park/neutral position switch. Park/neutral position switch may be faulty. Inspect the pnp switch and replace if needed.

Alarm code # 1750 & 0705 in the scanner

OBD Code P1750 = Solenoid Assembly / Manufacturer Control Transmission.

I tell you it is infact your solenoid box assemble is going. What that does is to tell your transmission when to shift into gears. Im assuming your car is having a hard time shifting gears and juts need replace this part.

OBD Code P0705 = Transmission Range Sensor circuit (PRNDL - Input).

I'll check the Neutral Safety Switch. It's located on the shift shaft of the trans, and is a common problem. Also check the wiring leading to the switch, as it is exposed to road grime and has been known to corrode and melt.

Also can review this DTC P0705.

Hope helps.

Transmision range sensor circuit (PRNDL imput) P0705 2004 Mitsubishi lancer

Usually a P0705 means your TRS (transmission range sensor) is shot. It is what looks like an old backup light/neutral safety switch and is attached to the transmission where the shift lever goes in. .

I have a 2001 kia rio and my check engine light came on so i got it tested and the code was P0705 and the guy told me he didnt know what that meant ha so can someone help me is this a serious problem whats...

P0705....Transmission Range Sensor Circuit Malfunction (PRNDL Input) . probably means that that a plug may have come off or a wire got cut thus the circuit to the Park , Reverse, nuetral , Drive or Low had a "malfuntion". Ot it couldbe the sensor itself on the tranny.
