Hi, I'm having issues with the wiper & washer switch on my truck (C2500), 88,000. miles. Would the column switch be the first item to suspect without performing any electrical tests or would there be components in the wiper motor assembly that could be problematic ? Sometimes the wipers & washer won't function at all, sometimes the wipers stop in mid-cycle & sometimes the speed is steady / constant when set in the slowest intermittant position. At times when the wipers are stuck I can tap on the wiper motor housing & the wipers will start...Thanks, Bill

Your problem is probably the wiper module. It is made in the plastic cover that mounts to the wiper board. The circuit board is made on the cover. At one time GM was recalling the covers. I would check with your local chevy dealer who can tell you if it is covered under the recall. If not, a new cover is not expensive. I believe that there are only 3 bolts that hold it on. It is a pretty simple repair. The GM part # is 19168554, and I believe it comes with new bolts and sealant to keep moisture out of the board. They list for $68.92 thru GM. Hope this helps

2004 Chevy Aveo LS. What to do if my wipers on my car are not WORKING properly?

Hi roberto ismael luna, I want to help you with your question, but I need more information from you. Can you please add details in the comment box?
what country,? (the vary by....this)
those parts swaps are they OEM new or used.?
that failure is called auto park.
traditionally that is only function of the
whole wiper assembly (not motor neat) as the assembly casing has switches, to do that.
it is a safety issues. to the wipers do not stick and block your view down the road.
sure the list of possibles.
1: control arm ,mostly no. (wiper)
2: wiper, whole assembly , not just motor.
3; fuses
4: relays
5: bad wiring.
6: controllers, BCM etc?

I say #2 is bad and exactly this part black at blue arrow, CAM box
the motor is not bad ,the switch cam, does AUTO PARK.
use only NEW parts. not pulls or salvage , or Pro grade Refurbs

The wipers quit on the 2006 Chevy Colorado. They are on separate motors. We have replaced both fuses and both relays, and now have replaced the multi-function switch on the steering column

wipers-yvtjdmwsd3lmjasjqz1fi5jn-6-0.jpg My database only shows one wiper motor. Did you check voltage and ground, anywhere? Check the wiper fuse for voltage, hot all the time, use test light. At the wiper motor, dark green wire is voltage for lo speed. The purple wire is voltage for hi speed, Turn on key, turn on wiper switch, probe those two wires for voltage, use a test light. That bottom black wire off wiper motor, in diagram, is ground, check that also. If good voltage and ground with no wiper action, I suspect the wiper motor. There are codes for wiper, manufacturer codes, check for codes. good luck

2000 ford ranger wipers only work on hi speed & won't turn off until later in pull the fuse. Also they will work by pushing the washer button & will turn them self off.

Obtain a scan tool with bi-directional control capability. Monitor functions and input/output from General Electric Module (GEM or Body Control Module). I would suspect usually the wiper motor itself (control board internal to the wiper motor) or the multi-function switch on the steering column.

On a 2002 dodge ram 1500 truck the brake lights and the turn signals and winshield wipers dont work the only brake light that works is above the cab. and the turn signal flashes on the dash like they are...

I suspect a bad multi function switch located in the left hand side of the steering column. This switch controls your high/low beams/wiper delay/windshield washer/turn signals and hazards.

I have a 2000 328i and the wipers work when switched on (both low and high), but i cannot get the washer or intermittent features to work. I have water in the reservoir but i don't hear the pump come on. ...

Sounds like a defective multiswitch on the steering column that is used to turn on wipers, washer, intermittent, etc. If you were only having problems with the washer, I might suspect the washer motor. But the fact that you are also having problems with the intermittent feature, I would suspect the multiswitch. If you can get access to the washer motor, you can test it by putting 12V to the connector to see if the pump will come on. Are your turn signals activated with the same switch as the wipers?
