WJ jeep USA.
fuse blown
or caused by trailer wiring rear, hitch, all mangled common
or past collision damged
front park lamps dead to or side lamps park dead/??????????????

only takes eyeball to see that.
or scan the PCM it will tell you why.
the service manual has the schematics for all that,
brakes + tail/park but blinks ok?
beside bad wiring, (I have A reAL WJ MANUALS ALL)
THE FUSE 6 IS BLOW
OR OFF F6 THE RELAY PARK IS BAD.
THE BCM BRAIN RUNS THE PARK RELAY TOTALY
SO BCM FUSES MUST NOT BLOWN, Just test all fuses. ?
BCM fuses are F7, f22, and f28, not blown./
the BCM must communicate on the network or fails
PCI bus is Jeeps name
if anything trashes this bus vast things fail.

if BCM is dead vast things fail over 25, and endless seeming list

not told you what does work? (telling only bad things only makes the job 10 x more hard.
scan and it tells you what is dead in 5min work. on most cars./.

I have a 2001 jeep grand cherokee and the only brake light that works is the rear top light. i have changed both bulbs and fuse seems to be ok.

Hi,
Is that the top rear light on both the left and right rear side or just one side?. If so what is your question? On every car I have ever owned, there was only one light for the brake light on each side.. On some older cars, dual filament bulbs served as both a tail and brake light, and in some cases also the turn signal. Today most cars will have a separate bulb on each side of the car for each function. If you only have a light working on one side, obviously check the other side, both the bulb and the socket. The bulb can be tested with a continuity meter and the socket with a 12DV tester or a dc meter. You will need to have some one hold down the brake pedal when you test the socket. Also, some autos will not have power to the brake light system unless the key is in the run position. Hope I have given you some insight :))

Best regards,
pj

2001 Grand Cherokee Limited- Driver side rear brake light does not work if tail lights are on. When you step on brake tail light also goes out. With lights off everything works ok.

Very common issue is the lamp assembly (dealer item). They are very bad to ground back through the tail lamp filament, lights on the path has voltage on it and the lamp will not work.

Brake light works with lights off only

Check your brake light sw +12v to the sw (under foot petal) with lights on. If you got +12v then have your partner press on brake to get +12v out to rear lights. If no volts out it's the sw. If +12v out then follow line toward rear tail lights. Also check to see if the brake light bulbs are correct and installed correctly.

Tail lights work, but not one brake light when braking at night.

2001 jeep grand cherokee left brake does not work period. I replaced bulb to no avail. the entire tail lamp assembly looked brown as though it heated up. However, the tail light, signal light and back-up lights still work. Please help.

No brake lights on 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee

First thing to do is chk. the fuse for break lights, if thats ok, than i would say its the break light switch. As far as the right taillight, that could be as simple as a bad bulb.
