SOURCE: 1997 nissan pathfinder shuts off right after starting

There is a relay on the rh passenger side kick panel above the automatic transmission module that is controlled by the ECU through the MAF sensor that controls your fuel to the engine so the air / fuel mixture is correct. I fixed a pathfinder one time with a similar stalling problem.

SOURCE: my Nissa Pathfinder 1997 will not start it might

youre going to need to get a volt meter and have someone hold the key in the start posistion while someone else goes under the vehicle and test to see if there is voltage at the starters smaller wire. if there is, replace the starter.

Chevy Malibu LS (V6-3.1 L) won't start or starts up and IMMEDIATELY dies, how can I diagnose the problem?

Your car starts and dies due to the failing antitheft system. Your vehicle is not receiving the "fuel enable" signal that it needs to keep running. So the injectors get turned to off to prevent theft. You will need to diagnose which part of the antitheft system is failing. Or bypass the entire security system. This link will help you understand the problem, and depending on the year of your vehicle, possibly a good bypass solution.

Theft fuel enable-incorect no signal

This is due to a faulty antitheft system. Your vehicle cuts fuel when the antitheft its triggered. Maybe a bad key, ignition lock cylinder, or theft deterrent module. There is a way to bypass this system on this link.

If I put a new ignition switch in a 97 camero does the security system need to be reprogrammed?

Yes and no. The vats system is not reprogramable like the newer passlock and passkey systems. It must be replaced with a original GM part. No after market. If not, the antitheft system can't pass on the correct signal from the key to the theft deterrent module, and the antitheft system will shut off the starter and/or the fuel injectors. It IS possible to bypass this system. This link explains.

How to sTart if lost key?

Impossible to hotwire unless antitheft system is bypassed. The key holds a transponder in it that is a crucial part of the antitheft system. Without the key or bypassing the antitheft, the vehicle will not run.

This link explains this system

My security light is on and my radio gets locked sometimes while I'm driving. Does anyone one know why this happens?

yes, the anti theft system runs thru the radio. Either the radio is going bad and causing the antitheft to kick in, or the antitheft is bad and faulting the radio. I just went thru this in my girlfriends 01. Ended up installing after market radio and bypassing the security system. I bypassed thee antitheft security first, and the car worked just fine, but I didn't get any radio till I installed a new radio. Here Is a link to help with the antitheft http://vatspasslockpasskeysecurityhelp.yolasite.com/

The cluster stops working lights come on on cluster turn signals dont work then u shut car off and wont restart until it sets for hour

Alot if the time when the cluster turns off, it kills the power to the antitheft system. When their system can't read the key, the car goes into antitheft mode. 2 options. Fix the dash, or bypass the security system. Here us the security info. http://vatspasslockpasskeysecurityhelp.yolasite.com/

How to check if the antitheft is bad, the engine turns has power, pressure to the fuel rail is good. Injectors good but no power going to them when cranking. Noticed the theft light stays on when turning...

in the center of the dash you have a flashing red light when car is not on looks like alarm system. if that light is flashing or stayting red while cranking you have a antitheft problem

Anti theft has locked out the fuel can i run 12 volts into fuel pump to bypass anti theft

No, that won't work. The antitheft system shuts down the injectors not the fuel pump. You can bypass it with some resistors from radio shack but the easiest way to fix it is to replace the ignition lock cylinder. This is usually what is wrong.

Anti theft system . Had to replace ignition key cylinder with new key that does not have a chip, can i bypass antitheft system .dealership says model firebird did not come with chip in key. need a solution...

The dealer is right...the 89 firebird did not come with a chipped key antitheft system. You should never have had a key with a chip to begin with.
