step # 2 44 ft/lbs
step # 3 turn bolts 180deg. further in one continuous movement, two separate 90deg. turns may be used.

hello i had same problem with my mk2 1.3 changed the heater matrix. Job done, cant believe how hot it is now! This can be done by only removing the center consol rather than the whole dash. WARNING this is a shity job unside down in the foot well! Also there is bolts on the engine side of the bulk head that need removing fist, The haynes manual forgets to mention this, these bolts hold the heater matrix and blower unit. Good luck

Hi, The relays in the Golf Mk2 are in the CENTRAL ELECTRIC compartment where the fuses are found, above the fuse see that there are in the region of 8 or probably 10 relays there... I recently replaced the Indicator Flasher Relay in there as well.

the rules are this, better airflow throgh the engine equals better perf. run a low restriction filter assembly, K&N and others make them, run a free flowing exhaust, do your research, just because it sounds good that doesn't mean it gives any perf gain, u can also fool with the electronics, they may or may not offer a performance chip for your car, u will have to inquire, call Summit racing, they are one of the leaders in the country on perf parts, they sell the best.

ive had this problem the loud tapping noise if properly you have the wrong oil in the engine the lifters only have a very small hole in for the to get in so if it to thick it cant get in causing the slapping noise.
