You will either take the vehicle and keys to the dealer or get a mobile car key person to come and code the keys to vehicle.

SOURCE: 2003 Jaguar S-Type, programming a key fob

The switchblade key would need to be compatable with your ignition switch barrel. Only normally available from jag dealers who check the Jag owners register before supplying you a replacement.
The older type seperate fobs could be programmed by switching the ignition on and off 8 times (allowing all functions to settle) and on the 9th switch on - press a button on each fob and then switch off. to test use a good fob to lock the car then try the reprogammed fob to unlock/lock. Sometimes this works first time - sometimes needs a couple of tries.

Yes the key needs to be reprogramed to the car. Unfortunately that will have to be done by the dealer. Make sure that you have plenty of proof that you are the owner. They will reprogram it but you will not take posession of the car until you prove it is yours.

SOURCE: mercedes 1999 c200 key fob

Hello Haq!
Could it be the key just needs re-coding? maybe you are worrying to much as £177 would be about right as that would need coding etc., Try phoning your local Merc dealer or take the key and V5 to them for coding (Hopefully)
Good Luck!

If I buy a new central locking key for my sprinter can I programme it myself ?

Def not,

Take it to a key cutter with appropriate software to mate it to your spare key

As a second note keep your key bunch light on 2008 sprinter or you'll break the esr ring

Electronic sensor ring - big bucks to fix and lots of downtime. This happened to me.

Esr ring if it goes will leave electronic solenoid in steering lock engaged and once you've had the sprinter put on the back of a truck and taken to main dealer they replace key box and then everything has to be re- paired with ecu

Big big bucks.

But a great van :-)

How DO I program my 2006 dodge sprinter mercedes FOB MYT3X7259?

The key fob must have the diagnostic scanner attached to the van in order to program it to the computer. Normally done for a small fee.

Key fob will not connect with ignition on Mercedes Vito 115 2008

More likely than not, you have the famous broken solder joint(s) at the coil inside the FOB...if that is fine and all solder joints look fine , then you had best get MB, or a good Mercedes Independant garage, to check the EIS and make sure it sees the key

How do i program my ford key fob 2 my transit van

1 - Unlock the doors. Put the key in the ignition, and turn from "Off" to "ACC" 8 (eight) times in under 10 seconds. The doors will lock. Leave key in the "ON" position

2 - Program the fobs by pressing any key on the fob. The doors locks will lock/unlock

3 -- Turn the key to Off. Locks will lock/unlock, and you are out of programming mode.

I bought new remote Key Fob on Ebay and it did work properly on my Ford Transit LWB 2003. Good Luck!

I LOST THE KEY OF MY SPRINTER, NOW I MAKE A NEW KEY BUT ITS WONT START PLEAE GUIDE ME

hi, the problem your having is going to be with the imobiliser the key that you lost was programed to your van so that when you put the key in to start it then this would turn the imobilise off.

Now as you have got a new key you need to take it to your nearest main dealers with your owners documents and ask them to reprogramme the key for you. The problem you might have is unless you bought the key off them they might ask lots of questions so make sure you take id and owners documents with you.

Now if the key you have replaced with isnt one that can programme to turn off the imobiliser then the chances are you will need to purchase the correct key fob off your nearest main dealer.

Let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance ok

E320 car key doesn't work

I had the same problem with my 2001 E320. Roadside assistance came to my house and said it was a problem with the key. Ordered a new key (cost about $220 from Keys European in Van Nuys, CA) and the key worked. When I went to dealer to pick up the key, I spoke to a service consultant and he said that hes seen that problem before and replacing the key wont do anything (even though it did work). He said something about a ESI (something like that) and said that parts only on that cost about $600. So first thing you should try is replacing your key. Hope I helped.

Security problem

Can you please tell me what part was replaced on you ignition system.
If you have changed the ECU or the IGN key switch they need to be fitted in matched pairs as the key switch is match coded to the ECU
Unless you purchase a brand new one that will be blank but must be coded by the dealer or someone with the correct software.

Inside the key is a small chip that tells the ECU it is a match & lets the car start.
The mechanics of most key switchs can be replaced but you must put the chip from your old key into the newly fitted key.
Some cars like Mercedes have the key switch coded & the key so they talk to each other & they must also be coded to the ECU as well.
Nothings ever simple is it.
