SOURCE: knock sensor location

It's under the intake manifold. To access it you have to remove the manifold and injection rail.

SOURCE: knock sensor location

The knock Sensors are located under the Intake Manifold at the top of your engine. The top will have to be taken off along with the intake manifold. Knock Sensors in past silverados used to have a problem with leaking water that corroded the sensors from washing the engine. Most times when you go to replace the knock sensor you will have to replace both along with the wiring harness that includes the the gaskets the knock sensors are surrounded by. After that you have to check the resistance to make sure you dont have any problems and then reinstall all parts along with a new intake manifold gasket. A good mechanic can do this for you in a day and charge you around $400. If you try to go to some place like a chevy dealer you will pay over $800. This is from experience of just replacing mine 2 weeks ago.

Where do I find the knock sensor on 2003 gmc jimmy 4.3l

The knock sensor is located on the engine block, cylinder head or intake manifold. This is because its function is to sense vibrations caused by engine knock or detonation. The PCM uses this signal to alter the ignition timing and prevent detonation.

The 4.3-liter's sensor is on the right cylinder head, beneath the rear of the exhaust manifold.

Where is the knock sensor located on a 2010 GMC Terrain

Being that you have a terrain, your problem is NOT the knock sensor. Locate the 17 digit VIN on your vehicle and contact a dealer and see if there is a timing chain recall that pertains to your vehicle. The problem is the bank one chain actuator is not adjusting properly. I've had to repair a number of these, and it's costly(12-1600.00 and NOT for a DIY'er

2011 gmc terrain, security alarm goes off after doors are locked with key fob, it is erratic no set time when alarm goes off, keeping neighbors awake

Locate the sensors, one is faulty.Induction sensors just about everywhere(I think they are illegal)but most likely in the doors ,shock is preaty close to the alarm cdi, smal case with a dancing spring inside may be needed an adjustment in sensibility,it has a knob on the case, air volume sensors just over the head,in front, look like litle speakers (tiny)or microfons, unplug one at a time.Bst guess:adjust shock sensibility..
