Hiya,

Here you go:

2.5L Engine To Remove:

  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
  2. Remove the air cleaner housing.
  3. Vehicles with 5-spd transmission: Remove the clutch slave cylinder and set aside.
  4. Disconnect the knock sensor wire harness retainer from the coolant hose.
  5. Disconnect the knock sensor (KS) wire connector.
  6. Remove the mounting bolt and knock sensor from the engine block.

Hope this helps...

This may be an igniter problem. The igniter sends signals to the coil. If you have a voltmeter you may have it tested. The igniter is found under the engine bay on the firewall at its center. Measure voltages on both terminals while cranking. You should get 0.1 volts on both.

Terminal 1 has yellow/blue wire while Terminal 1 has a yellow wire.

Other than that it could be bad wiring from the igniter or to the cylinders. Check for loose wires or exposed conductors.

If you can see if you can have a scanner connected to the car to be sure. There may be error codes stored in the computer. Some shops would let you borrow their scanners. If ever there are errors saved it may help you diagnose the problem accurately.

Knock sensor 1999 Legacy 2.2

As far as there being no knock sensor on a 99 2.2 I beg to differ. I have a 99 legacy and just had a diagnostic done and mine is bad. If there is no knock sensor why would it say it was bad and why does Auto Zone, Advanced Auto and my local Subaru dealer sell them. Mine is located under the throttel body and they are rather hard to get to. No offence to who ever said ther is no knock sensor but maby you should recheck your information becuse I know there is a knock sensor since I just changed mine.

Windshield of subaru legacy 1998

VYRON, the best place to buy the windshield price wise would be an auto salvage yard. Many have an internet database they can check to look for your windshield at other salvage yards, so you don't have to run around to different places looking, they will locate it for u. good luck, let me know how u make out. countrycurt0
