E87 1 Series 5 door 116i has a naturally-aspirated Inline 4 cylinder engine, Petrol motor. 1596 cm3 (1.6l)
This engine produces a maximum power of 115 PS (113 bhp - 85 kW) at 6000 rpm and a maximum torque of 150 Nm (110 lb.ft) at 4300 rpm.

So if E87 it is then it has spark and no fuel ever burns lacking spark
and must be scanned, after all fuses test good
here is the best test (EFI ways) DYI
1: connect scan tool & key on make sure scan tool works.!!!
2 CRANK FOR 5 SECONDS, AND RELEASE KEY
3: DO NOT TURN KEY OFF NOW.
4: SCAN AGAIN SEE WHY ECU TELLS YOU WHY SPARK IS DEAD,
IT SURE WILL, DTC P-3XX , HARD HARD ERRORS. LIKE THESE.
CPM DEAD.
CKP DEAD
SPARK DEAD.
FUSES DEAD
BATTERY WEAK.

Have you checked for voltage to the injectors? If all of them are not working it could be something as simple as a blown fuse or a faulty relay. Try this website as there were some updates done to some 3 Series models around 2007.

spark is dead, well the PCM cuts all fuel if spark is detected dead by law and hard Coded PCM logic (it is a computer)
so forget fuel for now.FOCUS ******* spark and tested correctly.
test spark at all spark plugs,not just one,
if all are dead or just 1 is HUGE pile of evidence missed done wrong.
WASTED SPARK 101 :
that engine (ours) has 4 lug coil pack on back of Engine
of someone connect those 4 HV wires backwards, the wasted spark technology fails hard. the coil made by NGK has numberS on them.
1>4 ,3>2
now trick #1 wasted spark wires must be tested 1 by 1.
if you pull 2 off you just killed dead 2 sparks or 4.
the HV side is wired in series like relic Christmas tree lamps were.
if you pull and test them 1 by 1 , never 2 at once, the tests are valid
and the spark shell base must be ground. or 2 spark plugs die.
yes 2 spark plugs can be tested at once both shells grounded

there is no need do that WRONG, JUST test them 1 at a time
if all for are dead the the scans show why they are dead.
it will have DTC P03xx errors,
learn too that throwing parts is never wise .
some sensor CKP need top tuned, with shims
and some CKP needs to be put into PCM learn mode.
so guessing cause engines to be 3 times dead
1 by failure #1 FATE.
and 2 new parts wrong or put in wrong. not reading the service manual on how to do it is CAUSE>

BUT NO MILES ON CAR TOLD

bring number one piston to top dead center and look at rotor- start number one wire in that spot-
if engine doesn't start and sounds funny
then you are 180% out---- bring up # one piston again and look at rotor this time it should point oppsite of where it was- redo plug wires- engine should start

The Town Car Executive series is the bottom line of the Town Cars.
It has the fittings to put a CD Player in...but most did not have them (unless specially ordered)

The next series up...is the Signature Series and has a 50 / 50 chance of having a CD player.
After that, the Presidential Series (special ordered series had the players)
Then top of the line Lincoln Town Car is the Cartier...with all the bells & whistles...and CD Player.

If ya have one...its in the trunk usually on the drivers side just below the "air ride" switch.

Dead short somewhere in elec. circuit. May want to try removing glove compartment light bulb and under hood bulb to se if one or the other may be staying made continuous. That could trickle rob your battery. Just a thought.

In order for the battery to charge, the alternator has to be good and keep the battery charged. If the car has been sitting, the battery is most likely dead, and you may be able to jump start it, but even if it starts, the alternator will need to be changed. When you say "it won't start" do you mean the engine will turn over but not start or it won't turn over at all?

This is a generic code which says " Timing Reference High Resolution Signal A Malfunction ". This sounds like an electronic problem from where the computer gets a signal form sensors ( in this case probably a camshaft or crankshaft sensor ) to determine top dead center cylinder #1, in order for the computer to determine the correct timing. Since the computer is not sensing correct timing ( be it electronic or maybe your timing belt has skipped a tooth or more?) this would be the reason for your car not starting.

If the instrument cluster is getting battery voltage, then this means that the instrument cluster needs to be replaced. Only availible at the dealer.
