In my 2005 Lincoln Town car, when driving in wet weather on the interstate with the traction control on, the skid control in the dash lights up. and the engine stops. If I shut the traction control off,...

The Enhanced Traction System (ETS) is designed to limit wheel slip during acceleration. This objective is accomplished by cutting fuel to selected cylinders, retarding spark and upshifting the transmission. The EBCM monitors wheel speed slip through the ABS wheel speed sensors and determines the desired torque reduction needed to minimize wheel spin.

Where is the speed sensor located

If you mean the vehicle speed sensor that sends signal to your speedometer, it plugs into the transmission near the back of the housing, fairly close to where the driveshaft attaches, probably on the driver's side about half way up the housing.

93 taurus overdrive not working

IF you have checked the fluid level and it is good then if you look at the fluid on the trans fluid dip stick at it is a dirty brownish color then your transmission is bad. If the color is a nice clear reddish and the fluid level is good then Overdrive is probably gone. Replace transmission or drive it until it quits altogether.
