Doesn't really matter. Whether it goes in one side or the other it will still function normally. Connect them to the core by if it looks like it should be there and what hose fits better in a position.

SOURCE: HEATER

You will also smell antifreeze/Prestone Sweet smell if the heater core is leaking and the windshield will steam up in cold winter not to mention the obvious coolant loss. i would think if it's water, unless you are using water in the cooling system, then it could be caused by the AC when it's on. This is normal for the hoses to have moisture on them and you will see it on the ground underneath the car when the AC is running.

1989 Mitsubishi Galant, back heater core hose blew up and I need to know which hose goes where, too the back fire wall behind engine

does not matter cores have no POLARITY ever.
some rare cars have heater hose VALVE. there, but most do not.
the core is only a radiator (liquid to air heat exhanger)with 2 pipes
it's all just pipe inside core and fins
no magic at all.
yes one hose is out and other is Input
but the core does no care. it only needs max flow.
yes the service manual covers this.(path day 1 new) yes.
if using oEM hoses preformed ,any generic car water hose works (auto stoles off a hose reel there)
the preformed hoses is he only reason to worry order here.
I can see your old car and what is there 34years later.

How to back flush a heater core

On the fire wall of the engine compartment you will find 2 rubber hoses connected to 2 Brass or Aluminum pipes that stick out of the engine firewall, loosen the clamps and remove those hoses, one hose and pipe is smaller than the other hose and pipe, force water with a garden hose through the smaller pipe to "backflush the heater core. Below is a picture of the core and the pipes that come out in the engine compartment to give you an idea what to look for, I have also provided a picture of the heater hoses from the engine.

I HAVE A 2000 AUDI A4 , THE HEATER CORE BLEW, IS THERE A WAY TO CLIP THE HOSE OFF SAFELY DRIVE IT TO A MECHANIC.

If you can cut the heater hoses off from the heater core at the fire-wall, and then use a piece of pipe or a hose adapter and hose clamps to join or connect the two heater hoses together, then you can actually drive the vehicle until you require heat from the heater core inside the passenger compartment of the vehicle.

Describe how to bypass a heater core in a 97 Dodge Dakota plz.

Easiest way to bypass a heater core is to disconnect both inlet and outlet hoses at the engine firewall. Install a right angle hose coupling in each hose. Then install a straight piece of hose to connect the two hoses.

I cant afford to fix heater core at this time so how do i identify hoses to bypass

http://www.chiltonlibrary.com/ContentViewer/CVFrameset.aspx
Here is a link for you if you want to replace the heater core your self with common tools. As for the heater hose, you should see two small radiator hose going to the fire wall. You can disconnect the hose from the fire wall and connect them together, this will by pass the heater core till you replace the bad core. Good luck and keep me posted, be glad to know your expedition is running 100% again.

Water leaking out engine near front fire wall

Sounds like one of the connections to the heater core are leaking. Should be hoses connecting to the metal heater core pipes. The heater core is on the inside of the car with metal pipes going through the firewall to heater hoses.

95 cutlass supreme leaking coolant from what looks like firewall overflow plus steams upwindshield

Your heater core has gone bad and needs to be replaced, If you go to Auto Zone you can pick up a new heater core and they will have the step by step instructions to doing the job yourself. If your lucky, may be the radiator hose to the heater core has failed at the cores pipes and it's only the hose that needs to be replaced but thinking not. You can get by pass the heater core for now so you can still get around till you pick up the new Heater core. Follow the two hose that goes to the fire wall and disconnect both of them from the pipe from the firewall, then with a pipe and two clamps, connect the two hose together and that's how you by pass the heater core. Good luck friend and hope this helps.

POSSIBLE LEAK FROM THE TUBE CONNECTED TO THE FIREWALL.

pipe going to the fire wall is usualy the cabin heater. for the time being there should be 2 hoses going to the fire wall coolant in/out. remove them from the pipe on the fire wall and blank them off or if the hose is split replace them. it could be the heater core but that usualy leaks into the cab.
