are front tires crushed to the curb??? we can not see that
key is not able to turn to ON, sure.
so to do that , we have to man handle the wheel.
(for sure at any curb)
hard left and hard right even 20 lbs of force. and at the same time gently wiggle the key to ON.
it will go if front tires, not down steep hill, pointing to a curb.
we can not see where you car is, so answers can get complex.

down hill parking there takes SKILLS,.
even getting out of PARK is even more hard there. that is a 2nd lock.
You may have to try turning the wheel while you turn the key. If your tire is against a curb it can force the steering lock and that will make it hard to unlock the steering column. You may have to turn hard to get it unlocked.
If you cannot turn the switch to "on" position, grap the steering wheel and turn it hard to left or right while you are trying to turn the ignition key. It should unlock. Do you have the front wheel against a curb or some object? That will put pressure on the lock.
first check the lug nuts... second, jack the vehicle up one wheel at a time move it every possible way while looking for anything behind it that might be loose.
There is a possibility that the steering lock is leaning on one side, such as when the front tire rests heavily a curb. Try moving the steering wheel repeatedly from side to side ( as far as it will let you go), while at the same time trying to turn the ignition key.
You might try turning the wheel a little back and forth while you try to turn the key to unlock the steering wheel. Also, you could try jacking up the front end to get the wheels off the ground.
best advice at this time is to jack up both front wheels and support vehicle on stands! then remove wheels and check/compare damage with the undamaged side as to what damage has been done? then either come back with info ? for advice or have a competant mechanic localy? advise you ? i do appreciate you wish to save $$$$s in diy and you feel confident and wish to do the repair/s saving on garage labour costs but when job is done you will need to have steering tracking etc recheck hope this helps and wish you luck !
