Is it water or antifreeze?
the latter is slippery juice, water not. (sniff sniff, sweat smell, is AF) if yes heater core or just hose leaks.
if it is water, then and only you drive this car.?
then it leaked water with doors closed.
if others drove car, maybe they had doors open in rain.
I cant guess that.
but if it really is a water leak, then its 1 of 2 things
windshield cracked, or caulk failures.
or door gasket failure.

the door gasket can be checked 4 ways. (more really)
1: look at it ,if damaged it is. or gasket damage.
2: look for collision damage, door bent.?
3: use news paper strips. say 4'' wide and put in seal area
and close door, can you pull; out paper?
yes, fail
no , pass. repeat all around the door.
4:or the water test. with garden hose and 2 people.

or drive to any body shop and ask them,
this is super easy for them.... let them.....?

I'd try pouring water harshly towards the windshield, (outside, of course). Next, do the same with driver's side door. If this fails, try again with a water hose. Remember, when it's raining, there's much pressure, especially if you're driving. I would really try to get water to leak into vehicle, it would be much easier with a friend's assistance. I hope this helps!

Water on drivers side floorboard . Why?

If you have a sunroof it could be the drain that follows the front pillar letting out under the front fender. These hoses are known to plug and crack open releasing water into the floorboards.

Driver side door check along top and front edge for tears or twisted looses sections. Internal to the door water can drain down along the window and is released outside the door seal. If the bottom of the door has the opening that releases the water plugged then water will drain over into the floorboard.

Leaking Fluid

Hi Sarah, I'm glad to help!

Lets address your question first. No it can't be any type of fluids from the Transmission or Engine. The reason the fluid is a brownish color is because the water coming in is washing dirt and debris into the vehicle. NOTE: If you did not notice any leak during the hot weather when your were running the A/C I'd say it's not due to the A/C System. If it were the A/C drain hole plugged up then you would here water sloshing around in the A/C housing close to the blower motor. It seems to me sense it was in the rain and we have had some really hard rain lately that's its most likely due to an outside leak. Here's how you can find the leak if its an outside leak. Close all the windows and run water over the passenger side windshield open the drivers door and get inside and see if you see water coming in, if you do that where your leak is. If you don't then move the water hose to another area and check again until you find it. Hope this helps and have an awesome day Sarah.

Water leaks onto the passenger floorboard during heavy rain

Floor plug or plugs have fallen out most likely. There Should be some plastic plugs under the floor board outside. Look to visualy check to insure they are still in one piece.

A busted heater core will flood the passenger side floorboard when the heat is turned on.

Water in floorboard after every rain. 95 Dakota

the windshield could be leaking behind the dash,a good way to check is put the fan of the heater on,hot or cold and get a solution of soapy water and apply to the outer edges of the windshield and look for bubbles.

Why does water get into the passenger side floorboard of my 2004 ford taurus when it rains hard? it only gets wet during severe downpours

There is a leak from your cowl area. There is a technical service bulletin to install a plastic extension onto the cowl cover so water will not leak in side. It will also damage your blower motor if you don't get it reapred.

Floorboard on driver side completely soaked after it rains

If you remove the door rails at the bottom of the doors you'll be able to lift the carpet and visually look for some small drain plug devices. It sounds like one or more of them is missing or that you have lost a seal in the door or window.

2002 Galant, floorboard on driver side completely soaked

try having an assistant 'water'' your car with a garden hose while you're in it.especially check seals at windshield & doors.it could take a few minutes of ''watering'' before a leak shows up.
