There is a rocker switch on the top center of your steering colum that may have gotten turned on

This is a small switch located on the parking brake it's self. You will have to get down in there and ck this switch. Ck the wires or the switches position against it's stop. Think of it this way, small switch rest against the lever when you put on the brake it moves away from the switch causing it to turn on a light.

there is a switch on the steering column on most Subarus that turns the parking lights on. This switch is easily bumped while cleaning the dash area. I would almost put money on this being the problem.

Dude! This is a common issue..there is a switch on top of the steering column for the 'parking lights'. It needs to be turned off....I'll bet that's it.

Parking lights won't go off

This happened with my car too. I have a 2005 Legacy. There is a parking light on the steering column. Just turn off the light and you should be in good shape.
