SOURCE: hard starting in the morning

it sounds like 1 of two things either your starter relay is gone and you need a new one ,they arnt that expensive or its your hold in winding in the starter motor this is a bit more expensive but can be changed quite easily.

SOURCE: 2002 Mazda Tribute V6 difficult to start.

IT SOUNDS LIKE THE IAC VALE OR IDLE AIR CONTROL VALVE IS BAD, WHAT YOU CAN DO IS TAP ON THE VALVE. IT IS LOCATED ON THE INTAKE RIGHT BEHIND THE THROTTLE BODY, JUST TAP ON THE SILVER PART WITH THE BACK OF A SCREW DRIVER A COUPLE OF TIMES. THIS SHOULD UNSTICK THE VALVE AND YOUR TRIBUTE SHOULD RUN. THEN IT IS JUST A MATTER OF REPLACING THE VALVE. YOU CAN GET THEM FROM ANY AUTO PARTS HOUSE.

I have a very hard time starting my 1998 mazda . The only way that it seems to start if I hold the gas down and try several times. Do you have any idea what it could be

TONS of things, but several questions come up? Does it spin over or just CLICK? Does it stutter and stammer like t wants to start but can't "catch"? When was your last tune up? (plugs, wires, filter changes, etc.) There are many, many things that prevent a car from starting, so a detailed account of the issue has to be stated in order to help you.
Please try again.

My 1998 ford taurus won't go unless i pump the gas pedal several times. it has a v6 dohc engine. I've tried lucas fuel injector cleaner twice but it didn't do any good.

Anything you add to your gas tank is a waste of money

You know 10 oz of anything in a fuel tank that holds
18 gallons will be diluted, common sense.

You press the gas pedal several times to get a
response. So you have a place to start,if you know
how your vehicles works.

The TPS Sensor would be a good place to start
your testing, not replacing,it could be other things.

Just go to a repair shop

Truck will not start when cold - like if not getting gas till several starting attempt and pumping at time the gas pedal.

couple of possibilities; 1) clogged fuel filter 2) Fuel pump going bad not holding pressure. (it drains back overnight or after shut down)

My van is hard to start you have to pump the gas like 4 times before it will start then it runs rough now on the way home it bogs down when you push the gas and it dont want to stay running or even start...

You could try cycling the key several times before you crank/start it. If that helps, check your fuel system.
Also, check and clean anything to do with idle air system.
How long since a tune-up? Any applicable trouble codes?

Real car problem

how many miles on it? if over 20k replace plugs. look into replacing wires too. oem or performance wires. and youre coil packs might be going bad too. take them off and check the back side to see if you have discoloration. all together youre looking to spend about $500. but you could probably get away with just the plugs for now. and if its still under warranty you can get it all done for free by a dealership.

Hard starting after sitting awhile

My 98 Jimmy runs on synthetic oil and starts well after sitting in cold weather. If the weather is the problem, try checking that. If it is warm... sorry no ideas.
