The modern ECM based engine systems/transmission/vehicle are matched sets for each application. It would seem to me something from the 01 F150 is remaining on the triton engine that isn't matching or compatible with the 97 Crown Vic. system. You said you switched ALL the components. Did you switch all the F150 components to the Crown Vic or did you switch all the crown Vic engine sensors and control valves, throttle body etc to the F150 engine.

Yes. You need the ecu that came with that engine. Did you switch intakes? The f 150 4.6 has a taller intake and I believe the stroke is different. I would switch the throttle position sensor too.

If it was an old police vehicle it has probably got an ignition kill switch located somewhere. This will have to be removed. And the wiring put back to factory standards. If not an old police car you are not getting voltage to the starter which is a bad relay. Do you get a clicking sound when you try to start? If yes, have someone keep hitting the start and listen and look for a relay under the hood.

SOURCE: cylinder 4 misfire on a 2000 crown victoria interceptor

first cylinder 4 is the last on the passenger side . first pull the coil out and check if there is water where the plug is. if there is take the water out and dry up the coil. if you find water you got a crack manifold or a bad intake manifold gasket. if there is no water replace the coil. good luck

Also check to see if there is power in the start wire form the ignition switch, the wire is a white wire with pink stripe, most likely not a common problem, but still something that could go wrong. this wire will feed the starter relay under the hood...

I dont see if the turn signal light has to do any thing with the engine shutting off, make sure the IAC idle air control valve is working, air filter is good, fuel filter is good and IF your vehicle has a power steering pressure switch then that could be causing it but with 1985 Crown Vic I dout it.
