Also check to see if there is power in the start wire form the ignition switch, the wire is a white wire with pink stripe, most likely not a common problem, but still something that could go wrong. this wire will feed the starter relay under the hood...

SOURCE: where is the neutral safety switch?

Should be mounted on the drivers side of the transmission, usally behind the shifter lever coming out of the transmission.

SOURCE: I need the exact location of the neutral safety

Ford claims a special tool is required to pull the part, but as long as you can find a way to get it out without breaking it, success right? Anyway, If the open end of the bell housing is 12 o'clock and the output shaft is 6, the neutral start switch is located at 9 o'clock, just above the shift lever on the transmission housing.

SOURCE: where is the neutral safety switch located on 1998

On 1992 and later models, the neutral safety switch is incorporated into the Manual Lever Position or Transmission Range MLP/TR sensor.

RENOVAL & INSTALLATION

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle safely on jackstands.
  3. Place the transmission in Neutral.
  4. Remove and discard the manual control lever nut, then remove the lever from the transmission.
  5. Detach the TR sensor electrical harness connector, remove the TR sensor retaining bolts, then pull the TR sensor off of the transmission case.
To install:
  1. Position the TR sensor against the transmission case and loosely install the 2 retaining screws.
  2. Attach the TR sensor electrical harness connector.
  3. Use an alignment tool, such as the TR Sensor Alignment Tool T93P-70010-A, to align the TR sensor slots.
  4. Tighten the TR sensor bolts to 80-100 inch lbs. (9-11 Nm).
  5. Position the manual control lever onto the TR sensor, then install the new lever nut to 22-26 ft. lbs. (30-35 Nm).
  6. Lower the vehicle.
  7. Connect the negative battery cable.

1999 crown vic wont start

Are you saying it won't crank, or won't start ?
If it does not crank, and you have replaced the battery and starter, the problem may be in the neutral safety switch.

2000 FORD CROWN VIC GETTING POWER TO STARTER ,BATTERY FULL CHARGE CAR WONT TURN OVER

I would check for voltage at the starter from the battery and from the key switch via the neutral safety switch.
If there is no voltage at the starter from the battery check the fuseable link wires and the ground connections.

I have a 93 crown victoria and it runs great but more often when I put it into park it doesnt want to start again. I have to reput it in park 3 or 4 times.

Bad PRNDL switch(park/reverse/neutral/drive/low).May be adjustable, but most likely the switch is bad.As a temporary/free solution, try starting in Neutral(USE YOUR PARKING BRAKE!)

2004 Crown Vic Police car the starter tries to engage while shifting from Neutral to Drive, any ideas?

The ignition switch and/or neutral safety switch is failing.
Please do not use the vehicle until you are able to inspect the ignition switch, the wire harness connected to the ignition switch and neutral safety switch + the recall on the wire insulator.
The starter gear can damage the flywheel and cause LABOR INTENSIVE repair.
====
Please check the service record the 2004 recall on selected Crown Vic Police car.
Link HERE for the official NTSA recall notice on wiring insulator.
Call your local Ford dealer, provide you VIN number and reference recall NHTSA Campaign ID number : 05V206000

My car won't shift out of park, 1993 ford crown victoria i need to know the location of the sclu switch and/or the park sense switch

Check to make sure your brake lights are functioning properly. The crowns vics of that year have a neutral safety switch that links the shifter to the brake lights.

If the brake lights don't turn on = it won't come out of gear

If they do turn on = it could be that the neutral safety switch is out of place or malfunctioning.

I do believe that the neutral safety switch in that model should be located near the firewall attached to the upper side of your steering column.

You can easily get a manual for your car or look it up at the library to find it's exact location. Or try asking at your local auto parts store.
