Pull the fuse for the fuel pump. Run the engine till it dies (or doesn't start) to get as much of the fuel out as possible. Locate the fuel filter near the tank. disconnect and replace. Note on newer cars, the fuel filter is in the tank.
a guess... fuel filter should be up against subframe behind rear wheel in front of fuel tank...follow fuel lines down frame rail from motor to back end to find it.... good luck
Most modern day fuel injected cars have the pump located inside the gas tank. It's the safest place to put it, it can't ignite any fumes because it's submerged in the liquid.
