2005 s55 when starting has white smoke out of exhUst for few seconds

White smoke is usually coolant,blue smoke is usually oil.Which level is low after driving for a few days?

If you are smokeing white smoke out your exhust and you are low on anti freeze do not drive this vehicle any further you have a bad head gasket or a cracked head either way it needs major engine work.If you drive it further you will destroy the engine. check your oil if you see white stuff on dip stick if you do your anti freeze is now in your oil .have serviced by a compatent mechanic.

If you over heat the car,the most possible is that the head gasket it is blown,remember,black smoke is fuel,blue is oil,and white is water or antifreeze.

your diagnosis would seem to be correct. when a head gasket goes, coolant can leak into the combustion chamber where the coolant turns to steam and vents to the exhaust.

your head gasket is no good . you'll need to get head gasket job unless you do this motor will seize up its smoking because its mixing ur antifreeze and engine oil..

you can either pull it out and replace it or if you know were the leak is you can go to any parts store and get a plastic tank apoxy and repair it this only takes about two minutes to aply and if you let it set for a few hours you can use the squirts that day

If smoke is sweet smelling and alot of moisture drips out of tail pipe, it is probably engine coolant.Check for coolant loss.

cylinder head valve seals needs to change.
