reset the CPU with a code reader as the program is corrupted.

check your fan fuses maybe they are not turning on to cool the engine

Possible faulty hazard light switch. The blinker circuit on many cars runs through the hazard light switch.

check ur crankshaft sensor

I'll bet you do have an immobilizer. When you turn the key, when it works, look at the lights on the top of the dash, toward the right side. Do you have a yellow light that lights up that says alarm? What you are describing is a common problem with 98 caravans. It sounds like you have a cracked circuit board in the cluster. When the cluster messes up it crashes the diagnostic line of the vehicle. When this happens the antitheft system cannot communicate with the ecm.

Have it scanned for codes, which you can do at an Autozone, or Pep Boys for free & see if any codes come up & start from there. If more help needed, get back to us with results of code scan. Easier & cheaper for everybody that way.

check for a bad crank position sensor, if it wont start until it cools down. thats all i can tell you based on what you describe

I'd suggest the ignition control module, however I'd have a certified mechanic check it out just in case...

make sure the battery trminals are clean, go buy a battery post cleaner, and clean the connections, if this does not help, some thing happen when putting the new battery in, electrical wise....

I had a similar problem a while back, something you may want to check on is a sensor that check the temperature outside, it sometimes shorts out and tells the computer that it is -100 outside and the computer shuts off the engine and will not spark or do anything as it is trying to protrect your engine...sorry i can't remember the exact name of the sensor but its a faulty one and only costs about 50$ to replace hope this helps
