its not a ford its a chevy there is no vacume line on a chevy of this year its electric shift modulator sensor on the driver side of tranny or check your lock out sensor on the tranny some times if you unpug it it will shift ok try this out first

Listen to me not him ok , hes talking about freakin fords not chevy's now your chevy is a 91 its got electrical sensors and electric shift modulator and a electric shift lockout sensor ok try unpluging the lockout shift sensor on the driver side of the tranny its located near the front of the bell housing ok then try that if not that plug it back in then replace your electronic shift modulator ok if thats not your problem then check your U Joints all 4 or 6 of them ok make sure theres no slapping in your U Joints on all your shafts if no problems there then you have a tranny pump problem thats it have a nice day !

No...but check to see if there is a vacuum modulator on the right side of the unit. If you have one, remove the hose, loosen the clamp and turn it so the line fitting points down, then tap on it. If fluid comes out, replace it. Also check that throttle cable going to linkage is adjusted properly.

I have a G30 chevy van, out of the blue it decided not to shift out of 1st gear, trans fluid is clean and full, what could be the problem ?

There could be a number of possible reasons why your G30 Chevy van is not shifting out of 1st gear. Some potential causes could include:
  1. Faulty shift solenoids: The shift solenoids are responsible for controlling the flow of transmission fluid through the valve body, which in turn affects the shifting of gears. If the solenoids are not functioning properly, it can cause the transmission to get stuck in 1st gear.
  2. Low transmission fluid pressure: If the fluid pressure in the transmission is too low, it can prevent the gears from shifting properly.
  3. Faulty transmission control module: The transmission control module (TCM) is responsible for controlling the shifting of gears in an automatic transmission. If the TCM is faulty or has malfunctioned, it can cause the transmission to get stuck in 1st gear.
  4. Internal transmission issues: There could be internal issues within the transmission itself that are preventing it from shifting out of 1st gear. This could include worn gears or clutches, or other mechanical issues.
It is recommended to take your van to a qualified mechanic or transmission specialist to diagnose the issue and perform any necessary repairs.

I have switched my motor to carberated and put a different automatic transmission in also and the trany will not shift. i put it in overdrive and it stays in first gear and if you shift it manually into...

The transmission should have a vacuum line going to it. It needs this vacuum to shift into the next gear. Try locating it and connect a vacuum line from the carb to the trans.

Honda accord 1991 shifter has a sport shift option, button. It will not come out of sport shift. It has auto trans.

It sounds like your tcm (transmission control unit) is going bad or it already is, at times when this happens you may also experience the trans not shifting or it gets stuck on a higher gear and will have to shift manually from 1-D.Usually this happens when it's really bad.

Transmission shifts hard and queckly into all 3 gers

Unplug and look at the most rear sensor, as looking at side, with trans looking away. Unscrew and look look for metal,if none replace sensor.
