The camshaft sprockets have an indention on them you will align them to the inside horizontally so they are side by side. The crankshaft sproket also has a timing mark on it and you will align that with the timing mark on the rear timing belt cover vertically. The tensioner aligns with with the notch on the automatic tensioner bracket. Hope this helps you.
timming marks on cams face each other 3 and 9 o clock crank mark at about 6 o clock mark in cover and sump auto adjuster arrow should be in v mark to set this requires turning water pump by loosening water pump bolts slightly be warned some times this causes pump o ring seal to leak if turning.
hi, it is under the upper timing belt cover between the camshaft gears.
According to the manual touching anything related to timing belt
requires removing million parts including right front wheel. I suspect
this might be an overkill just to remove upper timing belt cover.
So my advice would be to get it done by some mechanic as u will not be able to do it and may damage other parts also.
when you open your hood and you look on the valve cover you see on your left side of top of your cover a cable sticking out from a black piece that is the positioning sensor that cranksup the car
Single cam or Twin cam?
Single cam is top cog 12 oclock and lined up with cover mark.
bottom cog 6 oclock and lined up wiyh cover.
Twin cam is top cog 12 oclock and lined up with cover
pre tensioner is other line up position.
Send me your email address and i will send you pics.
