I have 1996 e 250 single rear wheels, my brake padle goes to the floor when you start engine, no air anywheere, change front brake pads, calipers, front flex hoses, master cylinder, booster, rear wheel cylinders, shoes, and from ford RABS valve i dont know anymore what to do
Found the problem with my brakes, anyone with this problem should change master cylinder with biger bore size that did it.Found the problem with my brakes, anyone with this problem should change master cylinder with biger bore size that did it.
Are you sure that you don't have air in the system?... try bleeding the brakes to clean out the lines. If this doesn't help it could be a bad brake booster and/or master cylinder. Is there a light air noise when you press down on the pedal?... this is generally a sign of a bad booster. Hope this helps let me know what you find out.Are you sure that you don't have air in the system?... try bleeding the brakes to clean out the lines. It sounds like you still have air somewhere in the system. You always want to start at the furthest wheel from the master cylinder and work to the closest one. So start with the passenger rear and then to the drivers rear, the passenger front and then the drivers front. Make sure to check your fluid level between wheels because if it runs empty while bleeding you will just suck air into the system and have to start over.
for the pedal to go to the floor there is still air in the brake system. Start again starting from the longest line bleeding each in turn to the shortest line . make sure you have adjusted up the rear brakes before bleeding as every time you press on the pedal the shoes expand right out and when you take your foot off the pedal the shoes go all the way back in. adjust them manually and do not rely on the self adjuster as it only adjusts on wheel movement
Try re-bleeding ALL wheels starting with furthest away - pass rear, then driv rear, then pass front and driv front. That should get your pedal back. To reset light you need ABS reset tool and it's EXPENSIVE. Have a good competent shop reset it for you. Body shops can reset them also.
Make sure the rear brakes are adjusted and also make sure there are no leaks. if there are no leaks then you have air in the system or a bad mastercylinder, rebleed the brakes, have someone inside pumping the pedal three times every time, then start at the right rear wheel and bleed it four times, each time have them pump pedall three times and hold it down, then go to left wheel and do the same then the right front then left front. to make sure you dont run master dry top off the fluid after every wheel, then adjust the rear brakes, and after that if pedal is low replace the master but you may just have air in the system, and make sure there are no leaks on any line. hope this helps.
Start with brake in the rear that is the farthest away from the master cylinder ( if your master cylinder is on drivers side start with passenger rear, pump up brake pedal until hard have someone else open bleeder valve until air or fluid squirts out, while holding brake pressure even if goes to the floor dont release pedal until bleeder valve is tightened or you will **** air back into the line,do this several times making sure you get a full stream of brake fluid and no air, continue to other rear wheel and then proceed to front wheel furthest from master cylinderand then final wheel. if you still don't have brakes change master cylinder and bleed all brakes again.
your power brake booster is blown out
the seal has a leak in it
run the truck for 3 minutes and shut it off. with the windows up listen carefully while you gently apply the brakes
listen for a hissing sound of air leaking.
the sound of these leaking is a very soft sound
