Providing a photo (or diagram) showing wires that should be connected to a 12VDC source would be helpful
Red is normally power in and black is normally earth wire. Get a 12 volt dc transformer that plugs into the power outlet and get the plug jack socket from a electronic shop and solder the wires correctly (red to centre pole ) and it should work . You will need a high wattage transformer for this.

Try radio shack, or stereo sales/installation place for ready to go plug adapter. For a few bucks, it saves headaches, and butchering the wiring in case you want to re-install old one later when trading in or selling the car.
