Does it leak coolant? Did you add coolant? Fans will not come on until 225 degrees. More info.

SOURCE: trac off light comes on a 2003 pontiac grand am

This is the TCS or Traction Control System. It helps keep the vehicle from being able to get stuck by forcing the torque to either tire. Usually there is a switch either on the dash or on the shifter that says TCS or TRAC press the switch and it should go off.

SOURCE: hi ,i change the radio

Try this, it worked for my 1998 Sunfire and a 1975 Monte Carlo. smile.gif
Press & hold the 2 & 3 buttons @ the same time for about 10 seconds; a 2 or 3 digit code will appear, write this # down, press & hold the am/fm button for about 10 seconds: another code will appear, write this # down, then call 1-800-537-5140 and enter 202108 followed by the # key, then enter the #'s that you wrote down from your radio followed by the * key. The call will give you a 3 or 4 digit override code. Write this code # down so you have it if you ever need it again. Enter this # into your radio following the instructions in your owners manual. If you get an override code that starts with 0, you drop the 0 when entering the code into your radio.
If you don't have an owners manual, try this, press & hold the hour button until the first 2 digits of your code come up, then press & hold the minute button until the last 2 digits show. Then press the am/fm button. This should reset your stereo. It did mine.

Code p0440 shows up on a 2003 grand am. Car does not crank up.

this is an obd2 trouble code table, it can help you understand the meaning of code.
for p0440, you can try this:

Remove and reinstall the gas cap, clear the code, and drive for a day and see if the codes come back.

i know this tool can clear your car code.

Inspect the EVAP system for cuts/holes in tubes/hoses

Inspect for damaged or disconnected hoses around the Evap purge solenoid

Check and/or replace the sensor

Check and/or replace the purge valve

Have a professional use a smoke machine to detect leaks

Malfuction indicator light stays on with my 2003 Grand Prix, why and how do I get it to go off?

The only way to tell why it is on, and the same exact and only way to turn it off is a hand held diagnostic scanner also called OBD2 or a code reader

What exactly is P1138 because I haven't been able to locate it in any OBD2 code books and what is the cause

Of coarse you haven't
You only find the Generic OBD Codes, required by the Govt
The dealers took your tax dollars, and now want your vehicle back, so they can take more money
The P Codes and others, are Manufacturer Specific

P1138 --Lack of HO2S Switch,Indicates Lean

Without writing a book on that issue, You may have a bad Oxy Sensor
It is a rather unusual code,so I would have it checked out by a local repair shop.

What kind of code scanner do i need for 1995 pontiac grand prix se 3.1 litre

Probably it is OBD1. I think OBD2 cam in 1996. Check the internet, you might get the check engine light flashing the code with the right on/off/on switch combination.
