TRUNK WONT OPEN LATCH IS BROKEN

latch cable damaged or dislodged from clip [which is possibly broken ]

check to see if the latch is stuck in the closed position. if so open the latch with a screw driver then lube assembly and try closing the trunk. if its broken go to a wrecking yard and get a used one.

I think that is a electric switch at the latch on the trunk lid. The latch could be brokne of a wire is broken.

if the latch is broken you need to get a new latch.

PENDING ON THE YEAR, THERE IS A SMALL SLIDE BUTTON ON THE INSIDE OF THE TRUNK THAT MAY HAVE BEEN HIT BY A BOX WHILE MOVING THIS IS A SAFETY AND ARE A PROBLEM. FOLD DOWN OR REMOVE THE BACK SEAT AND SEE IF YOU CAN SEE THE BUTTON NEXT TO THE TRUNK LATCH IT IS PART OF THE TRUNK LATCH AND NOT EASY TO SEE . IF THE TRUNK IS LOADED IT'S GOING TO BE TOUGH TO GET TO . I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH MY WIFES CAR AND TOOK ME THE LONGEST TIME TO FIGURE OUT THE PROBLEM. IT'S SOME KIND OF SAFETY THEY PUT IN THE TRUNK IF SOME ONE EVER GOT STUCK IN THE TRUNK. HOPE THIS HELPS

remove rear seat(bottom first) flashlight. yank on cable at latch. . if cable brocken at latch, use small screwdriver to pry GENTLY. may help to have buddy push down on truck to reduce pressure

Your latch may be broken go though the trunk though the back seat. Check to see if the latch is broken; or stuck. There is a little hole where all you have to do is use a screwdriver turn clockwise if trunk opens then your latch is either broken or your locking mechanism is stuck. There is a cable that runs from the key cylinder to the latch mechanism. There are clips that hold the cable housing in place, and if one of those comes loose then turning the key just moves the housing without releasing the latch. Check the clip closest to the latch. To get the trunk open drop the back seat, crawl in, and pull on the cable.

It is also possible that the cable is broken or damaged and needs to be replaced -- I assume you will then need to replace the enrite assembly.

most likely cause is latch cover plastic has broken and got lodged in the latch mechanism. now the fun part, fold down back seat , slide into trunk with a phillips screwdriver a flashlight and a large strait blade screwdriver, once in trunk remove trunk cover, then with strait blade unlatch the trunk. once lid is open remove latch and take out broken plastic to free up latch and reinstall then retest before closing trunk.

check for parts on google. the latch can be opened from the insde f the boot if its closed and wont open.joe
