I went out to my Toyota Camry tonight and the door was locked. Why it was locked in the garage, I don't know. When I opened it the car alarm went off. Even when the door is unlocked the light inside the car is flashing saying the alarm system is on. Someone recommended that I take out the fuse for the security alarm, start the car and let it run, and then put the fuse back in. The problem is that the diagrams in the fuse boxes don't indicate one for the car alarm. What do you suggest?
I have this same crazy problem with my Camry. When you push the button then open the door on the driver side really quick, the alarm starts to blow off. So what I used to do everytime is push the button to unlock all the doors then open whichever door you want. It won't scream. Try it.
I have just had my Toyota Dealer solve a very similar problem. I purchased a 2003 Toyota Camry second hand. A great car, except for the car alarm going off when the temperature dropped outside at night. Neighbours were not impressed. The problem was in a electrical relay that talks to the 'Body Control Module' (grrrr.... computers in cars). This is part of the car electrics that controls things like 'auto lights off' when you lock the car, 'power windows' after you switch off the ignition, 'central locking' and a few other important things like 'interior light auto off' (so you don't flatten your battery if you accidently leave it on). The faulty relay cost me $450 to replace, including labour, but everything works great now and most importantly, no car alarm at night. I cannot guarantee that yours is the same problem but my best advice is to take the to a Toyota dealership and get one of their mechanics to test it properly (they plug your car into a test piece of equipment that can check it properly). Shouldn't cost you any more than $100 to find the fault and to get a quote to get it fixed properly with a guarantee.
CAR ALARM ISSUES
It
can be any of the car doors not got properly locked or the door is locked but
the switch is not sensing the door locked. Open and close each door again
properly.
Or
else its problem with any of switch wiring getting in contact
with alarm wiring causing it to happen.
And
last thing alarm connections need to be inspected. It's getting short somewhere
in between.
There
are few help links with solutions, to troubleshoot these types of problems.
I suggest going through these links.
