Should have voltage on both posts of the coil. when the computer momentarly grounds the coil (in response to the crank position sensor sending it a square wave single). it will force a good coil to produce a spark. i would look at the coil again
good luck chris

My 1996 JEEP grand Cherokee limited 4.0 is not getting spark to the plugs, i changer the crank sensor, and the coil, what else could be causing no spark, i was driving it and it just shut off wouldn't...

How long since tune-up? Any applicable trouble codes? Did you check primary voltage to ignition coil, engine cranking, dark green wire with orange tracer, use a test light and check for voltage. That voltage comes from asd relay. You may need to check cam and crank sensor, both. I realize you changed the crank sensor, already. Some makes and models, the computer has to see cam and crank signal, both, or it won't ground the asd relay.

Could be other issues?

it's not turning over at all? that's battery or starter issue.

or do you mean it's turning over but engine wont start?

turn key to ON position and listen for a fuel pump, if you don't hear anything it could be that.

I have a 1996 Jeep Grand cherokee with the 5.2l v-8 engine. Last week I started it, and it ran for about 1 minute before shutting off. The engine cranks, but no ignition. I replaced the Crankshaft position...

Time to meter voltage. Start with the 12V circuit. Are you getting voltage at the coil. Does the voltage fluctuate when the engine cranks? If yes to both check the high voltage circuit. Start with the coil then the distributor then each plug. You should be able to find where the spark is failing.

1999 Jeep Wrangler 4.0L cranks but will not start. No spark from coil. Replaced coil and crank sensor.

Check all your fuses, check power to your coil, I doubt the crank sensor was bad unless it threw an engine light at you. Ohm out your plug cables.

93 jeep cherokee 4.0 dies when stopping but idle till fuel gone

GREAT INFORMATION...

however, you were not clear about fuel pressure

was fuel pressure OK before and during the concern...30psi and have you check flow

PLUS...during the concern are you loosing SPARK? Coil is great suspect!

while the code for the crank sensor concerns me I'd start with the most common Jeep concern...the ASD (auto shut down realy)

when you start testing again remember to check the CKP output at the sensor and the CKP input at the computer...you might have a CKP circuit that is worn out

Jeep grand cherokee computer problems (will not

there are specific tests you can run before changing parts...You should show an open circuit with no resistance between b&c connector pins on the crank sensor. (check with ohmeter) You also need to check that you have fuel /spark and test related items. (cps can kill both)

I have a 94 jeep that will not start.. ???

You sure code is 32? I never heard of a 32?? First, start with simple...Is there spark from plug wires when cranking? is there spark from coil when cranking? If not, is there power at the small (+) terminal on the coil? Is there an ignition control module mounted next to the coil? Has anyone checked the crank sensor or the pickup inside the distributor? Is there fuel? after cranking is there wet fuel residue on spark plugs? If not, will engine start briefly if you spray carb cleaner or starting fluid into air intake while cranking? Does battery have sufficient charge to spin engine over well? After numerous no-start crankings, it may loose some charge (sufficient voltage is necessary for systems to function properly.)
These things must be checked before you can determine the correct path to follow...Flailing around will cost $ and unless by accident, will get you nowhere. I'll try to help but you need to first check these items and post results!
good luck

94 jeep laredo not starting only cranking

Remove one plug wire from an easily accessable plug. Stick a short screw or any metal thing that fits into the boot (where the plug usually is) and hold it near (abolut quarter of an inch) the block while someone turns the engine over. If you get no spark or weak spark, repeat, using dist cap end of coil wire. If good there, check cap and rotor for dampness or carbon tracking. If no spark, check +side of coil for voltage (should be close to batt voltage with key on.) If voltage Ok check output from crank/flywheel sensor. (they go bad frequently) If good, change coil. In all cases, spark should be able to bridge a gap at least on half inch. Blue spark is best but a healthy orange one is ok. there are more complicated things that can be involved but these are most common.
(I use plastic handle pliers to hold wire to avoid a bad shock)
