Sounds like more water than can get out a crack. Check if you have a frost plug on the block has come loose and leaking. There will be about 3 on each side of the engine block, located just below where the exhaust manifold mounts to the block. It's a pretty easy repair, provided there is enough room to work where it is located. Sometimes a smaller such plug will be found on the rear of the engine. The coolant must be leaking externally and running and dripping off your exhaust .

Last time. I have Ford focus 2003 sedan dohc 2L. I lost a part from exhaust system. from back to front I see 1. tail pipe 2. rectangular box shaped part? Lunch Box? 3. missing part Muffler?

Starting from the front, coming off the exhaust manifold should have, 1. Exhaust pipe, 2. Catalytic converter, 3. Exhaust pipe, 4. Resonator, 5. Tail pipe. Also, there should be an Oxygen sensor somewhere around the catalytic converter.

Exhaust leak in 2005 dodge neon seams to be in front how can i find it and fix it

Since you wired up the muffler most likely the break is around the muffler. Easiest way to find it is to put it in park, have a helper rev the engine to say 1500-2000rpm, then from under the car move your hand around different areas and you'll feel the exhaust coming out where the leak is. Just make sure you don't touch the exhaust or you'll get burned, just place your hand near the pipes not on them!

Why is oil coming out of the exhaust pipe?

If your previous turbo had leaked oil into the exhaust system there would still be oil residue left in the system. (1) The catalytic converter/converters would need to be replaced if you have one plus any O2 sensors. (2) If your muffler/mufflers are a glass packed type, replace it with a new one. If muffler is a chamber type you can clean it with a solvent or replace your call. The muffler/mufflers are were most of the oil will be pooling. (3) Clean as much of the exhaust as you can with the solvent that you used to flush the mufflers with.

My car sounds like a motor cycle is it a problem with the muffler?

Easiest way to find out is to put the car on jacks or ramps. Then roll under and examine your exhaust system. It could be your muffler, exhaust pipe, or catalyic converter. More than likely its a hole in the exhaust pipe before the muffler or your muffler has seperated from the rest of the exhaust.

Blown exhaust on a vw passat can i fix it?

There is only one way to really fix a blown exaust and thats to replace it. It's not a bad job as long as you can get the car hi enough off the ground. You need a 14 mm wrench 13mm wrench WD40 14mm-13mm sockets and a swear jar for the kids so they make money!! Find out what part of the pipe is blowing by putting a potato over the end of the system with the car running. Perhaps you only need a small portion of the system.

Exhaust issue

Most likely the heat shield has corroded off and is just sitting on top of the muffler or Catalytic converter. Regardless you can remove the shield and still run the the Xterra without any problems, the OEM muffler came with a heat shield as to the after market mufflers don't have one. The Catalytic converter also has a shield and you can remove it also as the Xterra has a heat shield on the floor board it self. Most exhaust shop if honest will tell you to just remove the rattling shield if there is no exhaust leaks or no Check engine light on that monitor's the Catalytic converter's performance.
A muffler shop if shady may advise you to replace the Catalytic converter and that can go for up to and beyond $400.00, so as long as there is no leaks or check engine light on. Go right ahead and remove the rattling shield.

Loud muffler noise up front of vehical.what is

If the noise sounds like your muffler, but isn't coming from the area of your muffler, then you have an exhaust leak upstream from the muffler.

From the front of your muffler, follow the tubing forward to the catalytic converter, then forward to the engine exhaust manifold.

If you start with the car sitting for a few hours to make sure it's cold, you can use your hand to feel for blowing leaks while the engine is running, but chances are you'll be able to hear it. be careful of the catalytic converter itself, as it heats up fast, so check that first.

Once you've found the leak, the fix depends on the emissions laws in your state. If you have none, and the leak is in the middle of the pipe, you can buy pipe patchers (metal preferred) through auto parts stores or catalogs/websites. If you have strict emissions laws, or the leak is at the junction of the catalytic converter and pipe, you'll need to replace the failing part.

Exhaust leak

it can leaking at a number of places
it could be the exhaust manifold itself or the flange where the manifold and exhaust pipe meet or at any of the joints on the exhaust pipes. or it could even be in the actul pipe itself. if you are on a tight budget you could go and ask a shop for an estimate on what it would cost to have the leak repaired.as many shops offer free estimates. sometimes the franchise shops will even fix it for free if it is a real quick fix. my wife had a flange put in for free at a shop because it only took the guy 10 min. to do it.
