2004 nissan maxima SE with 61,000 miles. Driving

2004 nissan maxima SE with 61,000 miles. We just bought yeaterday. When driving last night we heard a clunk and all of sudden you have power loss. Still drives but less power, shutoff when we got home and this morning it drove fine for about 15 minutes then the same thing except it died at the stop light but restarted immediatley. Stopped at Walmart when I came out drove ok for about 15 minutes then the same thing again. Now the service engine soon light comes on and VDF light off came on. Is this the MAF sensor?

Check engine light is on and now the truck is spitting and sput

i would take it back. they should cover it. sounds like mass air flow sensor. if it was barelly detailed it water might of seeped into the intake thus sucking small amount of water which then causes sputtering and a little lack of power.
