The starter for a 92 Nissan Maxima is located in the front of the motor. In the front bottom of the motor on the driver side (right side if facing front of car).
It is cylinder like in shape with a little cylinder thing hooked to it (solenoid). There will be two or three wires hooked to it (one large wire and one little hooked to the solenoid). So, to find the starter, get on the ground, under the front of the car, look for the cylinder looking thing in the front bottom of the motor with a few wires sticking out of it. It sits almost directly below the battery...(well, directly in line of sight...it is at least a foot below the starter in distance, and probably just a bit more to the center of the car).

Engine is misfiring. Everytime the engine is put under load, timing changes and calls for injectors and solenoids to operate at different rates. Thus; the blinking of the light. You may have wrong injectors or one may be faulty. You will have to replace the solenoid as the plunger my be sticking.

there is a switch mounted to the back of the door lock. its inside of the door. you will have to take the door panel off to see the back of the lock cylinder. the switch has wires coming out of it. I think that is your issue. the switch is junk or it slipped of the back of the lock cylinder. that switch monitors which way you turn the key and sends that info to your smart entrance control unit, which works your alarm system. remove door pane and take a look at that switch on the back of the lock cylinder.

Maybe the thermostat is not opening up fully and restricting water flow. The heater core may have blockages - the heater valve is only opening partially. Gotta check out.

That is possible but it should set some kind of a fault code, have it tested by a local transmission repair shop, in most cases they will do this for free in the hope of getting the repair business.

I suggest you check for intake air leaks, vacuum hoses and connections, the pcv system and then move on to ensuring the throttle return spring is good, throttle butterfly is clean, not sticking and closing fully and there is a little free play in the cable. If all checks ok ensure the idle air valve is clean and not sticking. Your model probably has a distributor and it is also worth checking the auto and vacuum advance operation and the ignition timing. If the problem persists you will need to carry out some research on the control systems fitted to your Nissan. Some early injection systems used methods of control that would be considered unorthodox today. You might need to test the temperature sensors...

Most likely the foot brake switch mechanism is faulty and needs to be replaced.

Best Answer:Use the trunk or drivers door lock turn and hold it toward unlock for 2 seconds to turn off the alarm system. Arm the same way turn and hold to unlock 2 seconds. You should be able to see what the security light is doing. Last resort (two People) disconnect the negative post off of the battery #1 person turn and hold the ignition key to the crank position. #2 person then drop the negative terminal on (some spark) then the motor will crank and start before the alarm knows what is happening. It could be a number of things... Does it do it after car is warm?

Check the inner CV make sure that it's inserted into the transaxle and locked in.

Charge up the battery first. If the battery won't take a charge, then it's time for a new battery.

known problem is the connection at the injectors check for green where the wires are connected to the injectors or check the air filter maybe dirty listen for a vacuum leak this car has lots of known problems

Knock sensors usually are found on turbo charged engines. Have a diagnostics run on your car to pinpoint the problem.

check all fuses , they sometimes pop fuse when bulb blows.good luck.
