Most manufacturers do not put reset switches on windshield wiper motors if they stopped working suspect a blown fuse or frozen wiper linkage, or bad motor. Also possible the linkage fell apart.

The best way to time the wipers is to disconnect the linkage to the motor, with the key in the on position, turn the wipers on and then off. when the wipers are off make sure the driver and passenger wipers are at same level on windshield
you can adjust them so they don't go off the edge or hit the bottom.
if they are hitting off the edge and hitting the bottom as well you need to check the linkage since it may be worn out.

unplug old motor
remove plastic at base of windshield
remove the nut that attaches the wiper arms to the motor
remove the three bolts that attach the motor to the firewall
install the new one by reversing these steps
