Car is locked, doors and hatchback trunk are shut tight but the trunk ajar light is lit up on the instrument panel. Car senses it's open - but it's not and the alarm keeps going off. The alarm is factory installed by hyundai. To top it off when I press down on the brake pedal the trunk ajar light goes out! Can I disconnect the alarm or someting so that I can stop this from happening
It sounds to me all you need is to adjust the trunk hatch. Its going out when you hit the brakes so the switch isn't bad. It may be worn but if you can push on it and the light goes out it is the reason your alarm is going off. Make sure there isn't debris under the rubber seal preventing it from fully closing.

it may be worth while changing the battery in the remote as it takes more power to send the frequency to disarm than to illuminate the l.e.d.

Drivers side kick panel(down by the hood latch) where your left foot is. There is also one under the hood by the drivers side strut tower. If nobody lost it there should even be a fuse puller in there. On the back of the fuse cover is a diagram that tells you which fuse is which.

I have been having this same issue for the past 6 months. So far no one can give me an answer that solves the problem. I have done several things unsuccessfully 1) changed the battery (still happens) 2) flipped the valet toggle switch under the steering column (still happens) 3) I lock the doors using the automatic lock button on the driver and/or passenger door (the alarm will not self-activate and go off, but this still doesn't solve the root problem with the alarm)

best way to find a short is to unplug all parts that feed of that fuse put a new fuse in and then one by one plug things back in till the fuse pops.
