2008 Ford Focus Vibration

2008 Ford Focus with 13000 miles
Whole car vibrates while sitting still.
Vibrates when started, after warming up and when stopped at a light.
Vibration worst in reverse, noticeable in drive, mild in neutral
Ford replaced motor mount improving the vibration but not curing it. Tech said 4 cylinders vibrate and it is normal. I just don't believe the vibration should translate to the passenger compartment so much. Any advice would be appreciated.

my engine motor mount ruptured at 22,500. black fluid went everwhere.ford replaced the part. the vibration was still there and they inserted a pice of rubberized plastic into the front of the engin and it helped but did not solve the problem. my advice is take it to another dealer. this car was great for the first 15,000 mi or so then it all started to go down hill. because of all this the added vibration the door pannels now vibrate if the car hits a bump or if the raido is up half way. oh and watch out for your pain on the redundant auido controls it peels off and ford wount fix it. use a sharpie

They have my car in the shop again for the third time. They are bringing in an engineer. I will post the results.

Might need engine mount replace and make sure to buy engine treatment for less vibration on the wheel perhaps the whole car..

My manuel trans. 2001 for focus has a rattle sound and vibrates a bit when starting. It seems to go away after it warms up a bit, but it is getting progressively worse and the vibration is lasting lon

I had a 1984 Mustang 4 cylinder that match the symptoms of your Ford Focus. I found that it was the core inside the catalytic converter had broke up and started to rattle. Not saying this is your problem but a possibility. Another possiblity, exhaust bumping the body of the car.
The wer wer wer sound you hear going over uneven ground is probably not related to the other mentioned. It sounds like the four wheel independent suspension adjusting to the terrain. Cool temperatures help promote this noise due to rubber bushing that your vehicle has in the suspension areas. Annoying, but considered normal. Hope this points you in the right direction and helps. Let me know what you found. Later, Todd

Ford focus 2004 vibrates when cold and right turns , once the car worms up the vibration calms doun

Hi

Is this engine vibration? if so then I would check the air mass sensor, they start to do this when the car is cold and ofetn are fine once the car is warm. You can remove the air mass sensor and clean it up with carb cleaner, this normally fix's them but not always, certainly worth a try before buying anything.

They are easy to remove and refit, let me know if you need any help.
Is the cars revs / rpms rough when cold?

If so then most likey it will be the air mass sensor/air flow sensor.

Dan

I have a 2005 ford focus 2.0L it has a mis at idle but runs fine going down the road.PS I changed the control air vavle

are you sure it is a miss or a vibration? Focuses are famous for a vibration at idle because of the upper motor mounts. some get so bad that the whole dash vibrates at stop lights.

Unknown Vibration

motor mounts can be changed without pulling the motor the load percent change that the other guy posted is normal and a vaccum leak would cause the engine idle to wander when in neutral. if you need info on how to change mounts let me know

My car vibrates while sitting in drive 2007 for focus 2007

If your car can get up to 30 MPH or more it is not your fuel filter. You need to check your Idle Air Control VAlve and your EGR valve. Also while you are in there go ahead and check your air filter and make sure it is not clogged very bad for some reason
