Mr.Mangus have you checked at all your front suspension struts, shock absorbers,or lower wishbones with bushing and ball joints? I had recently a diesel ford focus 2007 with similar case and both front wishbones were replaced due to ball joints and bushes and then sent for steering alignment. Vehicle drive excellent. Please check.
Hi, there are four possible cause of the loose tire namely you either have a bent rim, bad bearings, the wheel is loose or the ball joints are bad. You have to inspect it to know the possible cause...........
Removal & Installation
The upper ball joints cannot be replaced separately. If the ball joints become worn or damaged, the upper control arm must be replaced.
The most common source of front suspension squeek for your vehicle a ball joint that has not been lubricated with each oil change. I would liberaly lubricate the upper and lower ball joints and re-evaluate your noise issue. While this may temporarily resolve the noise concern, the lower ball joints will most likely require replacement.
Good luck.
The upper and lower ball joints are riveted in on the oem ball joints you have to cut the rivets and then use a balljoint press to press them out the new ball joints have nuts and bolts just press them back in and tighten down the nut
you don't need to take the rack out, just change your track rod ends, i advise you to change ball joints also and check condition of wishbones and anti roll bar bushes.
I have a 2000 Honda Prelude SH with about 110k on it. I have been having all sorts of squeaks from the suspension over the past 1 or 2 years. It was the front ball joints that were found to be causing the noise. I also had an upper control arm and a tie rod end that was squeaking. The reason for the squeak is the sealed design of the ball joints and the fact that they cannot be lubed, and eventually just wear out. I could get it to make the noise by pushing the car up and down at the affected corner. I've been disappointed in the way the suspension on this Prelude hasn't really held up well. I've never had so many suspension components wear out on any of my cars before. But, your issue definitely sounds like ball joints to me. Those are the same symptoms I was having.
